Ali fought 25 world heavy weight title fights, won by ko 14 times, wd 8 times, lost by ld 2 times and lost by KO 1 time.. this means his record was 22 wins, 3 losses, so i dont know what your talking about getting his ass whooped so many times..

Ali is the best heavyweight boxer EVER. No one comes close.
In *my* opinion, Rocky Marciano is the best heavyweight CHAMPION ever - as he never lost the title. In fact, he never lost a match. And he fought and beat everyone, including (a well past his prime) Joe Louis. Ken Norton has always been overrated. His only heavyweight claim to fame was breakin
g Ali's jaw. He was quickly destroyed by Foreman, Shavers and Cooney - but fought decently against Holmes and Quarry.

The way Foreman falls so slowly and gradually, Ali could have hit him 4-5 more times, and anyone with half of Ali's speed in the same situation could have tagged Foreman at least 2 more times. Foreman never hesitated to hit his opponents while they were falling or out on their feet, and Ali showed Foreman more mercy than Foreman showed others.
