What's going on is U.S. govt IS BANKRUPT. They DO know what they're doing - they are stealing the $ from the middle class, as they gut america. The truth is a coup d'etat was executed in October '08. We are no longer in control of this country. It's true fascism. Mussolini: "It should more accurately be called corporatism..." Beware the air, the water, processed food, and media-controlled TV. Learn to read and think for yourself. Google keywords and make your own conclusions.
It's at 7.2T$ by many experts' reckoning (12 Dec 08.) Lehman was allowed to fail because they largely handled laundering services for one particular SAmerican country (drug monies.) Bush flew to that country and asked the leader to deposit their drug monies in WallSt (Lehman.) The leader refused and Lehman was allowed to fail. The message to the world: Invest your money in WallSt and treasuries or we'll let you fail too, you'll lose all your $. These guys are as corrupt as they come.

AIG said they were hedged if they failed so the US could have let them fail. The US is already on round two of the AIG bailout (up to $110B) because them bailed them out the first time ($85B) when they should have let AIG fail since AIG claimed they were hedged. Round two of the Fannie & Freddie bailout is not far away.
