Part of taking a ... ( 4 months ago by bscottdp)
Part of taking a punch is your legs and being able to take the shot and your legs holding up and you being able to get out of the way of that 2nd, 3rd and 4th shot.
It also helped Camacho that Ray had no offensive firepower left. Had this been 1980 to 1982 Ray Leonard Camacho would have been running just like the Chavez fight. Actually i think 1991 Ray Leonard beats Camacho. Ray had a lot more left in 91 then 97 and Camacho is no Terry Norris.

Piglatinsuperstar -
Check 1:36 of the 4th round. Look at how slow Ray's right hand was. He was wide open right there and he was never that slow in his prime. It's not even close. A amateur could have countered Ray at 1:36 of the 4th round with a big shot when he throws that slow right hand. This is the round before t
he KO. He had no snap left and thats because of all the layoffs and being 40 years old.

Macho was 18 in 1980. That's the year he started his pro career. Macho's biggest problem in 1980 may have been that Leonard outweighed him 147 to 127, ha ha.
any one know where ... ( 2 months ago by Goldskool)

hector was 35 years old so its an even fight. Only Hector Camacho and Terry Norris were his superiors
thats because of ... ( 2 months ago by Piglatinsuperstar)
thats because of all the trauma he recieved in front of everyone when he thought he was going to beat Hector. He probably thought Hector would lie down for him passively the way Hagler did only that he give him a reminder of the whipping Norris laid on him. Norris traumatized him for life and he never could get over it. Besides, look how slow Hagler is in his fight with Leonard. Nobody says shit about that.
What are you ... ( 2 months ago by Piglatinsuperstar)
What are you talking about? Leonard has always had problems with southpaws. Look at the trouble he had with kalule Ray got hit alot and Kalule didnt have Hector's speed. And no punch either! So Camacho WOULD HAVE coonnected on him and STILL blown him out. Leonard's problem is that he's still unproven and he just added to all the doubt with all his questionable comebacks and then he gets aced by Norris in a fight he was heavily favored to win. As I said all along, Leonard can't handle speed.
yeah, if you wait ... ( 2 months ago by BoDiddley24)
yeah, if you wait till he was old & hadnt been fighting much. dude, if you think those guys were better than leonard in his prime you really dont know shit.

You got it the ... ( 1 month ago by Piglatinsuperstar)
You got it the other way around. Ray wouldnt have much of a career if Norris had been around. Norris slams his butt and Ray retires claiming and eye injury. Ben Barr you got a lot to learn. You even blew it calling Hector a fag but who was that was backing up in this fight? The fag was backing Ray up the whole time and then KTFO!!
Want to take that fag label back?
