The fat man was also a mean ass'd dancer. No one could Cha Cha like Bill Conrad. Also, the fella could down Jack Daniels like water.

they have police package! beefed up suspension, heavy duty crankshaft bearings, oil cooler, etc. those cars really run forever. After the cops finish, the cabbie drives it for another 200,000 miles

What a voice. The lack of tobacco consumption has led to crappy announcers these days. The fat man was awesome.

    back then..you could advertise a 440 V8..now, ads are advertising 2.4 liter 4 cylinders engines..why is that :(

You would be surprised at what a great handling car these Chryslers were. They always handled better than Ford or GM. That's why Most Police Departments used full sized Chrysler Products. Now it's not going to handle like an MG or Fiat but it's dramatically better handling than a Caddy or Lincoln which had incredibley mushy and soft rides. Even Today, a large sized Ford Crown Vic or Dodge Charger Police Cars are amazingly incredibly good handling cars.

It's funny to see them promoting that big boat as a tight-handling sports car. But I always wanted one.

At least I'm not the only one. These older ads actualy show more of the car and less of the usless irrelevant things.

This ad is much better than the dumb, annoying car commercials these days.

Wow, that's pretty amazing, I checked it out and it does look like that's the commercial being made. There is a second commerical of the same theme with the guy leaving a wedding or something and with a woman, the woman looks like the same lady in the home film. I haven't uploaded the commercial as the quality is sort of crummy. But I will. I think this is indeed what your father shot. The car in the Van is definately a blue 67 Chrysler

I don't think that the narrator is William Conrad. Sounds close, but not convinced

Here is a Youtube link posted last year: 'HOME MOVIE OF CAR AD SHOOT IN 60's' where the poster said it was home movies taken by his father in the 60's. This looks like he was taking a home movie of the actual car commercial being prepped for shooting. You can see oil derricks, the model standing around waiting and the car itself backed into an enclosed trailer to be kept clean until they got ready to film the commercial. The car has a front end and tapered rear end like a 1967 Chrysler 300.
