In welcoming the fighters from 29 countries who are in Trinidad and Tobago to take part in the qualifying tournament for June's Beijing Olympics, we have to make the point that the sport of boxing, both locally and internationally, is not what it used to be in that, even as the associations and boards have grown, there is hardly a bout that manages to capture the public's imagination.
