Matthew Handley of Attalla, 13, represented Cross Roads Boxing Gym April 5 in a Golden Gloves boxing competition in Chattanooga, Tenn. Though Handley lost a close split decision, coaches Blake Waddell and Phillip Jones said they were impressed with his performance. The fight was the first match of Handley s career.
