Vicente "Loco" Mosquera is very confident about his first title defense. The WBA super featherweight champ will risk his title against José Pablo "Manzanita" Estrella this coming Friday in Córdoba, Argentina, during the WBA "KO to Drugs" charity event. "I didn't see any videos of Estrella, because I think a good fighter doesn't need to see videos to win a fight. I consider myself an excellent fighter. I proved that when I beat Yodsanan Nantanchai in the Madison Square Garden. Now, my only objective is to annihilate Estrella," said the Panamanian world champion. Mosquera had some problems running in Córdoba, because he feels affected by the cold weather. For that reason, he trains in the Hotel Ducal's gym with the heater on very hot.

Mosquera also targets unbeaten Venezuelan puncher Edwin Valero and WBO super featherweight champion Jorge Rodrigo Barrios. "They are that kind of fighters who like to talk a lot. But their words have never broken any bones." Valero will be the next in line to challenge Mosquera. Barrios had an altercation with Mosquera last year in Buenos Aires, and some weeks ago, Barrios called him a "monkey" on a national boxing radio program
