    Default Heavyweight Division

    Two questions for you guys

#1 Who do see winning the upcoming fights?

    Brock-Timor
    Valuev-Beck
    Rahman-Maskaev
    Williams-Skelton
    Briggs-Koval
    Guinn-Thompson
    Chambers-Mahone

#2 What fights should be made considering the outcomes you predict?

    OK here are my picks

Brock UD. Calvin should fight Wlad, Timor should fight a name opponent to keep his ranking high Ray Austin or Larry Donald perhaps

Valuev TKO. Nicolay SHOULD fight Sultan Ibrigamov but he WILL fight another bum. Beck honestly, who cares?

Rahman UD. Hasim should fight Sam Peter but will rematch James Toney instead. Maskaev should ponder retierment.

Williams TKO. Danny should fight McBride good England-Ireland rivalry. Skelton should fight Audley Harrison (he's there for the taking)

Briggs TKO. Shannon should step up and finally fight Sam Peter or John Ruiz. Koval should fight Joe Mesi or a Lou Duva fighter Minto or Marrone.

Guinn UD. Guinn should fight Ruslan Chagaev, he's only going to do well if he assumes the underdog role and actually uses his power. The other guy I have no clue who he is.

Chambers TKO. Eddie shoudl step up in skill and fight Vidoz or Vichiris.

not exactly a great bunch to choose from are they? lol

But wouldnt mind seeing Danny Williams step up to the plate n see what he is capable of. If he trains properly and puts his mind to it (and keeps his weight down!) he is capable of disposing of Skelton, possibly by KO and of fighting in the top 10.

I'd have him top 15 at the moment, there are some top ten guys he has a chance with. I've got a good feeling about Danny... think he will do well with Skelton.

Saw him in that fight he took on 4 days notice... didn't box brilliant but he wasn't sparring. looked a lot slimmer and more muscular.. hope he can get conditioned...

I tell you Monte Barett has dropped off the face of the planet. If he fought regularly he'd be a decent contender...I mean nothing special but he could beat Valuev and he'd give Brewster a hard fight too

    Thank GOD!

A thread entirely dedicated to the Heavyweight division and the best part is there is no mention of either Hatton or Callozo (until just now

    I Predict that:

    Calvin by late round TKO

    Valuev by UD

Maskaev by UD (i know he is old and he was getting out boxed by Rahman in part I, but he really impressed me against Sam and Rahman really unimpressed my against a rotund Toney)

    Williams UD

Briggs by TKO (but I would love to see Briggs get it taken to him Koval can punch) Don't think that he or Peter will ever meet because it appeats that they are afraid to fight at the next level

As much as I hate to admit it...i don't know who to pick for the last two fights. I have seen Guinn fight though and I have not been real impressed.

I have to be honest though, I would really like to see some fucking unification bouts here. This is way out of control. I really don't know when we can expect this though because there are quite a few stakeholders out there (ie. networks and promoters) that are making a lot of money by having the titles seperated.

Honestly Lyle, I think it is Rahman who needs to consider retirement. Lets face it he is on a roll in the last few years, but against second rate opposition. Toney lucked out in finishing an already done Holyfield and that is about as far as he is going to get in beating a heavyweight champ (I can't see him winning a title unless Ruiz wins another and wants a rematch). I see Rahman losing to the Russian again by KO. Just my thoughts and I may be wrong.
