I agree with you that he should stay away from 154, but I think he will be fine at 147. Boxing needs him and staying at 140 or 135 would not have been as great of challenge that 147 poses, he also knows that these will be bigger payday's for him. The fans deserve to see him fight one of the big three (Hatton, Margarito, Cotto) fighting Mosley or Vargas at any weight would be useless. I don't want a freak accident to happen to him such as the Mosley headbutt against Forrest, after him there is no aire to the throne. You see how hard the fans are on Jermaine Taylor, Winky is no spring chicken, and even though Pac is fierce we have seen him beaten. We need Floyd at 147, he will dominate boxing for the next two years until his skill will start to decline.
