    Default How was Mesi??

What you guys think of him? I personally wasnt to happy with his performance. But take in mind this is his second fight back. I scored it 58-56.

didnt see it , but im guessing if he wins a few more fights someone will give him a shot (in the contract i would think there will be a "sorry if i killed you" clause).

Just a shadow of his former self...& I didn't really rate him then...he's gonna get hurt in the future.

Agreed, he's so far out of it...much farther than just the two years imo....

Very surprised to see such a corpulent shadow of what he was; Joe should stop NOW! Splendid guy, but he is deluding himself. Death awaits him in the ring. Sorry

Let's put this in perspective...at his best Joe Mesi was beat up pretty good by a crusierweught in Jirov because Jirov could box and it nullified a lot of what Joe did best...what made Joe special was his ability to move, quick hands and surprising power...I did not see anything even close to that last night...He is fighting more like a shot fighter than just ring rust, his basic reflexes just were not there...Tessier is a warm body and the fight was comepetitive, not a good sign.

I agree with the poster that said Joe should become an announcer ...right now boxing needs good and knowledgeable announcers and commentators...just watching one HBO or SHO fight is testament to that...

I agree with your assessment and about the Jirov fight in particular.

Mesi was fighting what I like to call a morgue or slab fighter...lifeless & damned near corpse status.

That guy had more losses than wins & he still connected on Mesi.

    Seriously kids...he's done.

He get's in the ring with a top ranker...he's outta here.

I hate to hear that...I liked the guy, he was a good kid, he held himself with some class and he had a bright future...or a brighter one than he has now. Joe couldn't KO Ron Bellamy he should retire...he's not a "boxer" he's a puncher and if he can't punch he's done.

I think Joe's still a great kid with a very promising future...just not as a fighter.

Bayou Promotion’s Jimbo Stevenson has just released a statement saying that "Baby" Joe Mesi (31-0) will not fight on his July 8, 2006 card at the Coushatta Casino and Resort. An injury occurred to Mesi’s right hand during his nationally televised ESPN bout last Friday night against Stephane Tessier (3-.

They must have slammed his hand in the ambulance door on the way to ER
