I'm by no means a Floyd fan, IMO he does seem to be cherry picking his opponents, but a fight with Tony does seem like a fight where he won't win either way. If he beats Tony comfortably without taking a punch, people will just start questioning Tony's credentials, kind of like what people did when JC shut out Lacy. |

Punch Power: 678 | | Re: Team Floyd claim: We're not ducking Margarito The thing about fighting Margarito is since he hasn't fought anybody except maybe Cintron if Floyd beats him then what does that do for Floyd's legacy? As a fight I think he should take it, but he's 29 and he needs to start fighting the hardest or most recognized opponents he can for example the Mosley Vargas winner, Hatton, Wright. IMO he has more boxing skill flat out than almost anybody thats ever boxed whether its determination, love for the sport, work ethic, speed, power at his original weight class(which he is fighting 17 pounds north of). I think he has a chance against anyone under 160, but he has prove that he can beat everyone and anyone under 160 for people even to start considering him as a maybe top 10 ATG ever let alone compare him to Robinson... if he beat Wright, Oscar Dela Hoya and Mosley/Vargas winner he would be in serious contention with Robinson in my mind for the most dominant fighter all time. |

It seems like this guy's head is clouded. He is probably on someone's payroll.
| Journalists are suppose to be objective. I guess if this guy is so anti-PBF then he brings new meaning to the word. | I don't think this guy is a journalist at all. The way he writes is sooo one-sided that even if he were to write about someone i hate i would not allow myself to agree with this guy. You become incapacitated at your art when you only see situations in one way. |

Punch Power: 678 | | Re: Team Floyd claim: We're not ducking Margarito BTW I believe Vargas is younger than PBF. Mosley is just a 33, and same with Oscar so none of them are even closed being considered old men. Sure Mosley has lost some of his speed but IMO its always been because he jumped to welterweight to fight ODLH. Oscar was as quick, and powerful p4p as he's ever been in his last fight, and that has nothing to do with how he looked in comparison to Mayorga. Vargas has more wear than either, but he is still ginormous for a 154 pounder, and if he tried to get to the weight properly he would eat Margarito alive. |

I don't see him as a threat to Floyd, nor do I see him as anything remotely close to an equal. Quote: |

Margarito's promoter & fans might have you believe that...but he's just not a marquee name & that is what Floyd is on the hunt for.
Hatton, Oscar, & Mosley are what Floyd should work on the most.
Let Margarito beat a few...even half ass names...then he can talk alla that shat.

I love Quartey from a technical stand point, he is very pleasing to the eye when he fights, he is one of those fighters that throw punches picture perfect ! One of the best jabs in boxing I might add. this should be one hell of a fight! good match-up here for making my mouth water ! can't wait for that fight | |
