    Default Shane Mosley

Whats your thoughts on Shane Mosley?

    Stats are:

    W 42 (36 ko's) | L 4 | D 0
    KO percentage 85.7%
    Age : 34

    Notable fights won:
    Oscar De La Hoya twice
    Fernando Vargas

    Titles:
    IBF Lightweight title
    IBA WBC WBA Welterweight title

    Personal Note:
He is older so he is on the decline.
Hand speed is still ok although slight slower now.

Can he become a world champion again? What are your thoughts?

....he really didn't fight the top level of opposition that De la Hoya and Vargas fought.

I never liked how he fought basically a bunch of flawed fighters but now that he has become one I guess it's come full circle

CC, I agree 100%. I thought he would be the next RJJ and dominate boxing for years and it didn't happen. That victory against Vargas should not be a notable win on the list considering the stage and the condition they are in both of their careers

Up to and inclduing the first DLH fight I thought he was fantastic, amazing speed, but after that fight he just went downhill, I can only assume he didn't adjust well to cvhaging weight, just don't know, but he deteriorated rapidly and hasn't won a meaningful fight for years

I will agree with you that he looked solid in the De La Hoya fight, I thought he was winning until he was wobbled by De La Hoya and then KO'D in the next round, but after the Trinidad fight (His First Loss) he was knocked down by a journeyman and gave two strait poor performances, after that his camp had a sit down with him and asked if he was commited to returning back to form. His hatred for ODH allowed him to perform good, but the truth is he was never the same after the Tito fight, Oscar knew this, that's why he took the fight.

I didn't follow his rise to the top but i've seen about 7 or 8 of his fights and was never that impressed, definitely wouldn't have called him 'sugar' anyways

If Mosley beats Vargas, talks for a Spinks/ Mosley fight could be rekindled. So the possibility for Mosley to become a world champ again are there. I'm with everyone one else though, he look like an all time great after DLH 1. But after watching Forrest 1 & 2 he looked ordinary

You need to watch the Ike Quartey fight, he was solid and that probably was his toughest opponent. Also watch the Trinidad fight, even though he lost his heart was incredible and he battled back to drop Tito, he had my respect at that moment.

Your right he should have taken the short end of the stick against DLH for so many millions than fight Wright for chump change & get whipped. He played himself

Same ere . He may not be as good as he used to be but even at 50 % he is still as good as his main rivals
