    Default Khan denies driving charge

Amir Khan shot to fame at the 2004 Olympic Games
Boxer Amir Khan has pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving following an accident in his home town of Bolton.
The 19-year-old Olympic silver medallist appeared before Bolton magistrates on Thursday.

The charge relates to an incident in March on Bradshawgate in the town centre when a man suffered a broken leg when he was hit by a car.

The case was transferred by magistrates to Bolton Crown Court for a hearing on 21 September.

Khan, who lives in Lostock, Bolton, was given unconditional bail.

After the Athens games, he signed a reported £1m contract to turn professional, and has yet to be beaten in the ring as a pro.
