    Default Hagler and Cocaine

I saw on ESPN Classic a 30 minute special on the depression Marvin Hagler went through when he was robbed blind in the Leonard fight and unable to get a rematch from the wormy b@stard, and I didn't know that along with heavy drinking, he also had to enter rehab for cocaine addiction. This not to mention his wife leaving him and taking their 5 kids, leaving him all alone in his ranch he secluded himself in up in New Hampshire. It was soon after this that he went to Italy. Ray Leonard should be tarred and feathered

    Not so sure about that.

I know that Hagler's half brother & middle weight champ Robbie Sims was hooked on the candy pretty badly & that Leonard was also addicted & coping after losing to Norris...but I never heard that about Hagler.

The yayo got the Sweet Pea to last I heard he was living in relative isolation in a small town and quiant house by himself.

Cocaine is a hell of a drug

Anyways, not Leonards fault that hagler was robbed and it was hagler's own doing getting into drug abuse. Cocaine is addictive as all hell, i know some users and it basically takes control of a person

Cocaine...like any substance that can be abused...depends on the user & if he's an abuser.

Done cocaine many times...you either have the ability to walk away from it...or you don't. Cocaine preys on some inner weakness within you...something deep down in your soul that aint gettin satisfied...the blow cures it momentarily. A loss in boxing? Take a shitload of coca to fix that.

Again...I never heard that Hagler was addicted to cocaine. I'd be surprised if it were a fact.

I agree is was not Sugar Ray's fault that he won. I thought it was a pretty close fight and all that dancing Hagler did after the fight was not fooling any one. He knew what time it was.

And no one put a gun to Hagler's head and forced him to use yayo.

LOL, nah... we all know that wacko's found the drink instead?

Funny we bring up cocaine..this woman who I buy herb from is really pushing me to sell a bit. She knows im responsible and am in college so I would have a large group of potential buyers. I know if I started selling i'd start using and well...don't have the best substance control track record. Also, dont want to get busted and have to become someone's b*tch in prision when i'll have a bachleor's degree in psychology this spring and planning on grad school in neuroscience.

Been thinking about at least trying it for a while though..probably one of those things you just don't want to have a lot around else you'll just keep blowing and blowing and blowing.

Care to share some insight wacko?

Thats good advice. But too many kids nowadays give into peer pressure because they want to be like someone else instead of looking inside themselves and being someone they were meant to be. You were born into your life and you were never meant to live someone elses. It's just a shame not many kids nowadays follow that

If you start you can kiss your bachelor's career and your life goodbye.

    How's that for insight?

First & foremost...this is a bad place to continue this talk...so I'm moving the thread to a more appropriate place.

Trust me though...if you can stay off of it now...you'd be wise to.

Once you get on it...it's hard to get off. Good stuff...but it can own your ass faster than a redneck can a trailer.

I am a fairly cautious person but there's that temptation to at least experience that "euphoric rush" I hear about. I know some users and people who have used..some just do it once in a while or don't use anymore and others are controlled by it. I guess it's a coin flip if you can be one of those people who use rarely and can walk away or if your one that it'll take control of. Funny thing is I have a feeling I'd LOVE the yay and it'd be hard for me to stop; yet still want to try it. I dont think id like to sell...even though its the kind of thing to do for a couple months then get out (so i've heard) I think having a lot around would be too big of a temptation and not to mention big risk with the law. However, if I could keep my nose out of it I could be looking at a few extra g's a month! All about the risk vs. reward...I don't think i'll mess with it..got too much to lose at this point in life. Tough knowing someone who gets top quality and not being tempted to try. I could picture myself picking up and 8ball and trying it out with some buddies some time...then again I can picture myself never doing it...time will tell

Or I should probably just keep my ass in the gym, in my books, and stick with the wonderful herb! That sounds like the best bet.

Your best bet is to not start cocaine. Not at all. Just walk away from it. Keep your mind in the books and keep your nose in the air.

I've done coke a handful of times, and the positives outweigh the negatives the first few times, but the shit is pretty addictive, if you run out, its tempting to make that phonecall. Hey, I had a good time though, in the words of Bill Hicks, "I have taken drugs before... and I had a real good time... sorry "
"Didn't rape any body, didn't beat any body, didn't lose a house, a car, a job, laughed my ass off, and went about my day... sorry"
Oh and, it sucks if you ain't drinking, the 2 go together great if your drinking, but if you ain't you just feel kinda wired. No hangover, and you have a great time with your friends, but its not worth it if starts becoming not fun.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!
