    Default Titooooo Trinidad wants... CALZAGHE?!

    http://doghouseboxing.com/chee/chee_1017hh06.htm

According to a published report out today by Gareth A Davies reporting for telegraph.co.uk, Joe Calzaghe who wants a super-bout with Bernard Hopkins could have another candidate to look at.

That candidate could come in the way of Felix "Tito" Trinidad. According to Gareth's report, Jay Larkin, a fight organiser with Home Box Office, said yesterday that Felix Trinidad who is retired from boxing was prepared to make a comeback
at 168 lb to fight Joe Calzaghe.

Gareth also reported that the most likely option is for Calzaghe to meet the undefeated double-belt world super-middleweight champion, Mikkel Kessler, of Denmark, in late February next year if the right American opponent cannot be found.

I guess Tito is serious in making a come back, but at 168 seems a bit much.

not neccesarily bro!! i mean it depends one a few minor things that could cost either fighter...
how would joe show up to the fight? if he shows up like he did with lacy he would outpoint tito, i have a sneaking suspicion that joe much like zab judah.. is a guy who is only reaaally motivated for the major fights!!
but if joe shows up all unsure, and too keen to impress... i feel if he gets dropped by a big ol guy that i never heard of a while back....
if he gets drawn into brawling with tito.. i see a tko victory.. tko because i know joe is a proud man and hes come way to far to let himself stay down this late in his career being unbeaten and all...
frankly im obv going to say tito cos he my favourite fighter....
but its a good fight a big worry is that middleweight is not right for tito.. supermiddleweight could be disastrous? i hope he could cope... i think that tito might price himself out though to be honest

Calzaghe batters Tito worse than Hopkins did. This fight would be as one sided as Calzaghe Lacy, the only difference being it would'nt go 12 rounds.

oh deary me bilbo.... do we have a joey c fanboy??
ner comon bro i gave joe his props but lets have it right joe just beat the big bad propject kid....
frankly i cant compare joe to bernard.. i think prime versus prime joe gets schooled..
and if i were to put the best joe c vs the best tito with the power that tito either has or used to have in his prime...
i say tito stoppage.... maybe even still...
i just dont see joe stopping him nevermind last the distance with him..
just depends on how good tito is... plus to keep up with felix he'll try throw hard shots and brreak those hands of his... they are becoming a major problem for joe unfortunately...
i duno man props to joe but i duno if i can see it happening i certainly wouldnt want joe to beat him..
    certainly one to watch thou!!
especially if tito came to britain??
i'd get some badass seats for that fight no matter the cost...

    Too small, too slow IMO.

The only real chance he would have IMO is if Calzaghe got wild like he has been known to at times, just wades in throwing wide hooks and maybe Tito catches him with a shorter hook, his hooks are tighter and shorter, and hurts Joe. But Joe does have a good chin and would Tito's power be there at 168? Either way Calzaghe would have to be a fairly overwhelming favorite, and no way do I see him winning a decision.

It has nothing to do with being a Calzaghe fanboy it simply has to do with 3 simple facts.

Fact 1, Tito is a natural welterweight or 154 lber at best, Calzaghe is a natural 168 lber.
Fact 2, Tito comes unstuck everytime he faces someone who can box. He's one dimensional against the elite. Calzaghe would be too fast, too strong, too good.
Fact 3, Tito is way past his prime, hasn't boxed since the humiliation of the Winky Wright disaster.

So 3 simple reasons why Calzaghe murders Tito.

I would suggest you would have to be a delusional Tito fanboy to even think this fight would be competative :P

we all saw the problems that south paw jab of winky wrights gave tito. joe would be to busy for tito i reckon. but still a good scalp for joe, but he shouldn't take that fight at this stage in his career if he's talking about calling it a day soon.

    delusional maybe...
but i just dont really think that much of joe to be honest i mean comon'
all i can really think of him bieng tested with the whole time is....
    the aba's
a past it eubank... good performance..
    a big bad prospect
fair play that is at least two good fights ....
but tito has hung with the best i duno, im jus waiting for joe to make his mind.. in all fairness im not sure whether i want tito to come back and risk a pretty good legacy
but the rewards to it of winning another big fight would be huge...
dont blame me for taking tito's side.. i jus always will do
and dont be offended that i was playijn n called u a joe c fanboy cos im a massive tito fanboy! lol

    Hillarious.

So Trinidad wants to get beaten by another boxer.

    Bring it on Tito.

if Calzaghe fights the way he did last time, Trinidad has a very good chance at beating him and Trinidad has a lot more boxing ability then Lacy

Ok so now you mean to tell me that a natural 147-154 has a better chance than a natural 168 pounder that could fight at 175(Lacy)

Tito's chin has always been questionable and at 168 IMO he would be very Chinny....Say what you want about Lacy's ability but that boy has a Concrete chin... I love Tito but at 168 he gets dominated without a doubt... I mean do you remember the substansial size difference between Trinidad and Hopkins at 160??

Trinidad had no iron jaw, but his chin got better as he went up in weight, most of his knockdowns came from balance more than actually being hurt
