Thread: mike tyson vs sonny liston

ive been reading this book recently and it talked about how sonny could beat tyson at his best. it says he was a big strong guy with a great reach and it said he was faster than tyson and had a better left jab. i aint sure though. tyson had power, good head movement and defence. what you guys think ?

Yea definetly Tyson imo.. He was fast enough to get inside Listons jab, it was long and powerful but somewhat slow, Tysons head movement in his prime was far good enough to weave in and unleash..

Well Mike Tyson could of done it, but I say Liston would of made it a close battle.

They said he was tough and had a hard stare.

It would be a battle in the trenches of hardcorps warriors, it would make for a classic fight, there would be no dancing around, Tyson KO7

Liston's jab would of controled the fight. Liston in 6.

i remember reading an article about how tyson admired liston and reguarly visited his grave. if you ask me a prime tyson would have flattened liston inside 6.

Yeah i think Tyson had the advantage of head movement and stuff like that.

Mind you Liston used to go 15 rounds regularly, hardcore champ.

Whatever the outcome, i doubt if u would get 2 MEANER & ANGRIER men in the ring at one time. My money would be on Tyson, but it would definately be over in 4-5 whatever way. Imagine being the ref in this one.
