Truth is that PBF is just setting up a fight with ODH... ODH will also say it's his last fight...
and there you go... instant hype.

Thanks mate, I spent about 20 minutes trying to figure out whether it was an euphemism for something else, but thankfully, it just is peanut butter jelly. You know I'll never get the time I spent trying to figure it out back...I jjust have to write it off as wasted time, when I could have been doing something with my life. Sadly I now need an excuse for the other 23 hours and 40 minutes of that day that was spent not doing anything constructive. :POriginally Posted by Lyle
he has a total of 3 fights at welter, Sharmba Mitchell, Zab Judah, and now Carlos Baldomir“I am a legend and I am the best there is,” he said. “I will go out on top unlike anybody else. I fought everybody they put in front of me and I beat them all. I never ducked anybody in my life and I fought the best of the best. I am a champion in four different weight classes and I will go out on top. Oscar don't have it in him to go out on top like me.”
and a total of 3 fights at jr. welter, Henry Brusseles, Demarcus Corley, and Arturo Gatti
out of all those which name is an actual ELITE fighter, i don't see any Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito, on there, my early prediction is that Oscar De La Hoya will be too big, too strong, too fast, too skilled and just show too much heart for the Pretty Boy to overcome, so yea let him retire after his next fight, because if it's against DLH he'll retire with a big 1 on there

hatton can't box and has missed the Floyd boat... Floyd isn't going to come back down to 147 to fight him and Floyd was already at 147 when Hatton fought a good enough fighter even call him out.i don't see any Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito
As for Margatiro? Elite?
Elite!? don't make me laugh... he is a 147 version of Hatton who has fought even less names... he can shout out as much as he wants but that doesn't mean he deserves a shot at PBF or has the skills to beat him.
I would liked to see him fight Cotto but again, Floyd isn't going to come back down to 140... Cotto might fight him at 147 because he is meant to be moving up or so I hear...
elterriblemorales your spot on there mate. i just wonder whether mayweather goes home and thinks about what he has just said and realises what a load of bollocks it was? or does he genually beleive the shit that he comes out with? but from what i've seen he's not exactly surronded by people that are gonna keep his feet on the ground and tell him like it is. they're much more likely to keep telling him that he's the man, and that no one can touch him and blah blah blah bullshit.
Floyd could have very well just have taken on Hatton instead of Gatti at 140, why didn't he? because it would have been a tougher fight, i know this and so does everyone else, and i'm not even a Hatton fan, Mayweather has basically avoided fighting the best in the division since moving up from Lightweight
theres no way he's retiring after one more fight . theres a good competition out there . he aint finished. he wont of really of proved anything if he has one more fight
Yea ok Shows how much you know...Ricky and his camp said no to a fight TWICE....They said Hatton wasn't ready than they priced themselves out of the other...SO its not Floyd that dosent want to fight it was Hatton that said NO......Originally Posted by ElTerribleMorales

Is he really cut out for Jr Middle and middleweight? I doubt it...he would probably end up fuckin up his record and his legacy. Now probably is a good time for Mayweather to call it a day. He's unquestionably the best pound for pound fighter out there. I dont think DelaHoya can take him. Who and what is really left for him to prove and do in boxing? He's making the smart move here. Sure he will probably unretire someday...they all seem to. But for now, he should do what he feels he wants to do. He has earned that right. And if he hasnt fought any elite level opponents, who are those opponents exactly that you consider to be the "elite" ones?
fine with that, but then why did Floyd run around blind, deaf, and mute, when Margarito basically offered to fight him also for freeOriginally Posted by JT Rock
Yea cause Tony with his 5 or so losses and notable win against Citron warranted that one too....Margarito will have all he can handle against Clottey...Not to mention Santos offered a rematch to beat on him again...I guess Arum didnt get that call..Originally Posted by ElTerribleMorales
Who had Hatton beaten when Floyd was at 140? No one outside of the UK would of watched.Originally Posted by ElTerribleMorales
I like Hatton, I'm British and I hate to say it but Floyd has been an gone, Hatton was too late... Blame Frank Warren for brining him along so slowly.
No way will Hatton want to be back up at 147... unless it's for Floyd... who he won't beat at 147.
41-0, retired one of the best Lightwelterweights to ever lace'em up on his stool to become LINEAL CHAMP, two division Champion and he brings a large wealthy fan base with him. Personally I think if Hatton stops Castillo the fight will still happen.Originally Posted by Scottsw550
I think Floyd is backing himself into a corner, when the dust settles he will realise that he doesnt really want to retire and he just threw a tantrum because he doesnt feel appreciated and thats because he has his head stuck so far up his own azz. He who dares to be great
Okay, can you not see that this is aimed directly at Dela Hoya?Originally Posted by jbirdy

Who cares about Floyd at Welterweight anyway? I don't want to see him in another track meet I'd prefer to watch his highlight reels on youtube
The Welterweight devision doesn't need him it has Mosley coming back in 2007 and with Margarito, Williams, Cotto, Cintron, Baldomir, Quintana, Collazo and lets not forget Judah we got some terrific matchups ahead
