Just curious to see how many people thought that was a bad stoppage. There was less than a minute left when Brock
got to his feet from a big right and the ref immediately waved the fight off.
It seems plausible that Brock could have rode on his bicycle for under a minute and made it through that round.
The ref just looked in his eyes and didn't even motion for Brock to put up his gloves and walk toward him.
Although I don't think there was anything suspicious about the stoppage, I think Brock should have at least been given
the opportunity to walk toward the ref.; particularly in such a close fight.
On an unrelated note: it's complete B.S. that Klitschko has to fight Ray Austin for a mandatory defense. That doesn't make for
very exciting H.W. competition. But after Klitschko's last few fights, maybe he deserves a tomato can defense and stand to make a few
more million.

Austin is getting the contender status because Don King....Don is the puppet master of the division and he wants Valuev kept away from Wlad!!!

If I'm Wladimir I say fuck the belt, I'm fighting Valuev, make the deal...there is NO WAY it could be seen as ducking an opponent, Ray Austin should actually be happy if Wlad does that, it would save him an ass whippin

He was still 'snoozing' and he didn't have his legs under him, it appeared that he was gonna fall forward into the ref's. hands a la Lennox vs. McCall....

Overall it was a good stoppage, there was no need to let Brock continue and get hit with another huge right.....

I seen the round on youtube, and although Brock looked like he wasn't going to get up when he hit the canvas, he did get up, and NO, he didn't do a Judah! I don't think
that the ref afforded him the proper opportunity to show he had anything.
There are many points in fights (that haven't been stopped) where a fighter gets badly rocked and loses his legs but has the opportunity to regain
his composure on the merits of his own boxing ability! This was not the case at all in this fight.
Although I can't say that it was a bad stoppage, after watching Round 7 in full several times, I think that Brock wasn't given much of an
opportunity to show for himself on the biggest day of his pro-boxing career.

I don't think the stoppage was bad. Brock's face hit the canvas uncontested.

I think if Kelly didn't stop the fight right after the knockdown Wlad would have immediately knocked him down again and if he didn't Brock's corner would have thrown the towel in.

But everyone is OK now, alive and well, Brock wasn't ready to fight when he got back up therefore I think it was a good stoppage

as he got up he wobbled backwards and i cant see how he cud have carried on in that state wlad would have just pummeled him again i think

I didn't see Brock complaining! I was impressed by his heart and willpower to get up from that...he dropped like a sack of....something. It was definitely a good stop imo. If it continued wlad wouldve just landed another devastating 1-2 and brock wouldnt have been able to defend b/c he would still have been in la la land.

Not in any way shape or form should that stoppage have been scrutinized.

Brock had taken a pounding leading up to the fight...that also was probably being taken into consideration throughout the match.

Did Brock complain?

It seems a bit speculative at this point to say that Brock would not have been able to make it out of the round.
When he looked like he was K.O.'d after hitting the canvas, he did rise to his feet albeit on unsteady legs with less
than a minute left in the round.
Wladimir has always been a very tentative finisher and I think that Brock may have made it through the round.
But that's EXTREMELY speculative at this point.
Hats off to a guy with a great chin and good boxing skills, and hats off to Klitschko for getting the job done and not crumbling
under the pressure like he used to.

Wlad has been under pressure since he started boxing...he went to a special school, he had to be the best or else he would be kicked out

Brock was finished. Another shot like that could have killed him

Very Good Stoppage!!!!!God that was a perfect right on the sweet spot, Brock wasnt there at all...He got up on pure instinct, No need to take anymore punishment

He had always appeared tentative when it came to finishing. You just have to look to the Peter fight as evidence of that. When he had Peter
ready to go after an evil left-hook, Wlad just backed away and kept his distance not willing to go in for the kill. He even looked tentative when
he K.O.'d an over-the-hill Mercer.
In other words, he doesn't have the killer-instinct of a prime Tyson, Holyfield, or Frazier; all of whom where spectacular finishers when they had
someone in trouble.
