I'm not sure my problem has been knowing that the body needs to go into the cross just having the posture which allows me to put it into the cross.
I think it is because my head was too far forward a lot of the time. Maybe you can see what I mean if you try it yourself. Compare pivoting your body around with good relatively upright posture and your head balanced properly chin in - to leaning forward with your head and chin sticking out.
The later seems to be restrictive. It feels like you can't put your body in to the same extent. I think I was trying to put my body into the punch in this restrictive posture and just getting frustrated because i couldn't do it. |

So are you saying that you don't believe head angle and position have anything to do with it? |

Check out G-man for one of the best right crosses ever employed. Also Alexis Arguello and Morales

They also leaned forward as Sharla was explaining was her problem |

They also leaned forward as Sharla was explaining was her problem | They leaned forward for the purpose of their hook, if they didn't have such sublime power in their left hook, leaning over would have been seen to be a huge detriment. |

Punch Power: 542 | | Re: The Cross ....I understand that but they were still leaning forward when they threw their crosses and they are/were successful at it.
So either she needs to stand more upright and tuck the chin in to throw a proper cross a la Wladimir Klitschko. OR she needs to watch Cotto and Frazier land their crosses and emulate them.
I suggest fighting more upright, but that's just me |

I suggest fighting more upright, but that's just me | To avoid leaning to the left because of the force I always take a step to the right or slip to the right afterward.
Don't tell anyone |

I suggest fighting more upright, but that's just me | Now you're beginning to understand what I was trying to get at - not only the lean but the lean in combination with the head position and orientation which I've explained in earlier posts.
I still feel I am better off eliminating the lean all together. |
