I don't know about an internet myth...but he got beaten by Vasquez.

The Simon fight was not that close...I have the fight on tape.

He won the Vargas fight...no doubt.

You guys think anyone can beat Winky? JT in a rematch? Miranda? Abraham mught be a tough fight because of the styles maybe? Calzaghe?
I think Miranda's made for Winky. Winky-Abraham would be kind of an akward fight but I think Winky would be more consistent with the jab and win. I thought Winky won the first JT fight and I'd favor him again but both JT could beat him. And Calzaghe too.

I'm not jumping on the bandwagon and I like Winky more than Miranda but Miranda seems like the kind of guy who won't take no for an answer and just because Winy blocks his shots, I don't see Pantera stopping throwing them a la Tito. I don't think Winky has the power to earn his respect either.

I agree, stylistically,Abraham is awkward. He has more power but Winky's defence is better. I'd fancy Winky.

I don't know,I thought Winky won the first JT fight BUT had JT come forward more rather than backing up,he could have imposed his siez more and when he did let his hands go,Winky did back up.It was a close fight either way and Winky should take the rematch because even if it is an unfair split in favour of JT, Winky would get more for that than for any other match.

JC is an intriguing fight for me. Joe would give Winky angles he has not seen before. And the amount f leather he throws, each shot with power, could wINKY WITHSTAND THAT? I think JC would easily evade Winky's jabs and straight shots too and if the Quartey fight is anything to go by,Winky may be slightly more hittable.

Winky would destroy Miranda with the jab... This would be more one sided than him vs. Tito because I believe that Tito was a superior fighter, and plainly better than MIranda with alot more credentials... I think that Miranda might even be ko'ed by Winky because he is all of the place with his punches and he would be eaten alive.

Yep. Got everyone of Winky's fights but the first 6 or 7. Trying to get those now.

I do want to restate the fact that Wright against Vasquez & Wright against Simon were not the same Wright of date now.

Even Wright against Vargas shows improvement.

I just watched the Vasquez fight, and in the second round Vasquez goes down with Winky punching him and the Ref doesn't rule it a knockdown yet the same thing happens like 30 seconds later and Winky is given the standing 8. Also I thought Winky did enough in the 8th to get a 10-8 round, and he did win every round he wasn't knocked down in IMO they were close, but he still definitely landed alot more, and that jab was spectacular along the whole fight.

I believe its the third knockdown of this fight, but Winky gets hit and it looks like one of the ko's where the guy is goes limp right after the hit, and I was like how the hell does he get up from this, but sure enough he did. He was really lean back in those days, and maybe he could take the punches as well... He certainly more a technical standpoint wasn't taking those punches back then as well as he does now.
