Default Humberto Soto v MAB:what do you think?

I'm a big MAB fan but I love love Soto, and he is just getting better and better. He IS MAB's mandatory too so how do you think this fight would pan out? I think Soto would give him a tough tough fight honestly, because he has a good jab,he's accurate,he's tough and he's very very active,he lets his hands go. He has 5 losses but that was more due to his limited camp, taking fights on short notice etc. Now he has a good team behind him aaaaaand,he was Erik Morales chief sparring partner for 1 year and it reportedly hardened Soto.

I was there when Soto beat Juarez to first make a name for himself. I never heard of the guy and was straight pissed when he had to replace the injured Injun Chi. Instead Soto used his good reach and solid chin to make one of the better upsets of 2005.

To me Soto's kind of like the new Zahir Raheem of a few years ago. We know he's good and while it'll be hard for him to get a big fight people aren't lining up to fight him. He's been 3 for 3 with knockouts against winning record opponents since then and is due for people to take notice.

If they were to fight he would definately be competive. I think the drama would be somewhere between Barerra Juarez 1 and 2. MAB is mapping out his last few fights and might not have time for such a dangerous assignment. If he passes on it, keep your eye on Soto to make noise in 2007.

Im not really sure how it would pan out, Id certainlty expect MAB to pull it off, but I really don't think Barerra has time for these kind of fights anymore... If the MArquez match comes through, and he can get through that and still wants to rematch Pac, there's really no reason to throw anyone else out there... Thats far more than enough of a bang to go out on.

Excellent post and sums up Soto for me too,CC brother. I saw him for the first time against Rocky too and I was MASSIVELY impressed,so saw some more fights and became a fan,a great fighter.

True, good point,CC,MAB does not really have time for this fight UNLESS,the Pac fight does not come off and MAB decides not to take the fight against JMM.Remember,I'm sure MAB turned down a fight with JM a few years back...after the Naz fight I think?

I read that if Soto;s mandatory fight against MAB doesnt comes through and Mab ends up fighting JMM instead of Pac. then Arum will put Soto against Pac in Macau prob for the interim belt since both are signed to top rank and since Valero's team dont wanna fight pac yet. Now thats a fight with war writen all over it.
