I would be absolutely shocked if Jones accepted a 40% cut. It's not about what he deserves, it about what he'd be willing to accept. He may only deserve 40%, but I think there's no way he ever takes less than 50/50. Roy views himself as a historically better fighter than Hopkins, as a bigger name than Hopkins, and as the guy who beat Hopkins in the first fight. He's not taking less than half.

Well let's give due credit to Hopkins, he is the one who won a world title in his last bout, I hardly think that RJJ's WBO DFJDIFvibpib title that he won from Prince Badi Ajamu will be on the line. I reckon Hopkins probably deserves the split, but to make the ifght, and make bucketloads of cash for everyone involved, then I'm sure that Hopkins will be negotiable.

It's official!!!! Both of these idiot cowards are absolutely terrified of each other. For 7 years now, this has officially become the most pathetic attempt to make a fight happen. There has never been, in history, a fight that didn't come off for so long because each fighter was hiding behind the percentage excuse. Both these guys need to just shut the f@#k up and go away. Nobody even gives a sh!t about this hasbeen, 7 year too late fight anymore anyways. These p@ssies robbed the boxing public of what could have been the most anticipated showdown back in '01 with the same crap and I'm just so damn sick of hearing it again.

Muhammad Ali punching on Trevor Berbick's casket would be a more exciting rematch than Jones-Hopkins II.

Absolute bullsh*t fight, another classic example why hopkins is such a coward.

after he beat tito there was NO ONE in mw worth beating, he wudnt fight calzaghe, he would chase RJJ at LH, the only time he moved to LH was when taylor chased him out; and well giving him props for fighting tarver will depend how much you rate, i don't think tarver is jack all

i got respect for hopkins talent sin the ring, out of it hes the most overrated, padded, protected fighter ever imo.

Your a big Calzaghe fan, everyone knows that... SO you reall can't be taken too seriously with comments like that.. Id also like to know how you have respect for Hopkins talent in the ring, but find him to be overrated out of it So like, he's a great boxer, but overrated as a stand up comedian, or member of the community? Yeah ok.

im a big calzaghe fan and will never denie it, but i don't see how that hould affect my view of hopkins...

Let me correct something: "he would meant to be *wouldn't* chase RJJ at LH[/b]

i respect hopkins has talent in the ring - was hoping by that i would come accross that i don't think he is a total bum; alot of people have respect for calzaghe's talents, but think hes overrated. surly there is a boxer who in the ring you have respect for but think he is overrated by the majoretory?

Take lacy, watching him fight robin reid in my local with my mate, we both agreed lacy was a good fighter and had respect for him, bot both agreed he was completley overrated and providing joes hands held up joe would win (neither thought he would win the way he did...)

i can see where i confused u, my bad

Let me say this...I am a huge fan of both Hopkins & Calzaghe & I am 100% shocked that the above statement left your finger tips Preme...just when I think I know you...I don't.

That'd the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard & it also shows that you are either just trying to build up Joe's name or you know nothing of the middleweight division.

I can be unbiased & state that Hopkins has faced the better opposition between he & Calzaghe & I can also say that Joe is the one that has been protected.

Seriously babe...you can have an opinion...but one that doesn't hold water sinks to the bottom of the ocean fairly quickly. Joppy, Eastman, & Tarver are a hell of a lot better fighters than anyone that Joe has faced since the year 2000 so don't come out with statements like that.

It's bullshit. Joe is the protected fighter of the two.

i got alot of problems with the class of people joe is fighting, waren has padded him and it pisses me off, joe should of vacated the wbo when he won it and gone on to get a proper title; if calzaghe doesn't fight taylor hopkins, kessler or woods after this manfredo fight then he will lose me as a fan, i wanan give him the benefit of the doubt that hes been lead to beleiev manfredo will give him the step into the us market, unless he does sumin big after it he will lose me as a fan (and a hit lot of others i think)

but hopkins, na the guy never chased big fights like he should of. after tito he had 3 fights earning something like 2-3 mill for the lot! he could of fought calzaghe for 3 mill, jones, toney for the same amount or more.. but he priced him self out... RJJ moved up each weight beating the best apart from HW, he ebat the ebst MW at the time hopkins, he beat the best SMw at the time, toney, and beat everyone worth beating at LHW; hopkins beat tito and then no one. the joppy, eastman and tarver he beat compare nothing to the RJJ, calzaghe and toney he priced him self out of...

First, there's no way Hopkins was going to leave 160 right after he beat Tito, because he still needed a couple wins to break Monzon's streak of successful defenses.

Second, exactly how was he supposed to challenge James Toney? Toney was already a cruiserweight by that time. In fact, Toney was fighting many of his non-title fights at that time weighing around 200 pounds. Exactly how was 160 pound Bernard Hopkins supposed to fight 200 pound James Toney?
