Well for fights there is no doubt that is Evander Holyfield who has made the most money as these numbers are concrete, and its just comparing data, but who's made the most money with boxing, and other things is either Foreman and Oscar, but probably Oscar in terms of making boxing related money, but the man in boxing who has made more than anyone else is Don King.

The question was who has made the most strictly from fight purses. The answer to that is definitely Tyson.
A quick google search reveals that De La Hoya's total purse earnings are more than $200 million, while Tyson is believed to have made somewhere between $300-400 million. So Tyson clearly earned more. This isn't surprising, since Tyson was making $25-30 million dollars not just in his big fights, but also against the B-level guys he fought right out of prison. De La Hoya has only pulled in that type of money in his big fights.
Tyson deserved to make the most, since virtually all of the highest grossing PPV's in history are his fights.

Now if you were to account for all boxing related income, then DLH would almost certainly be #1, since I'm sure he making tons of money with his promotional company. Tyson obviously never started a promotional company, although the thought of him managing and promoting other fighters is pretty funny.

But just fight purses, it's Tyson who has made the most.

Last I read ODLH has made over $220 million in purses.

And I bet he kept most of it

According to sunday times rich list I think Lewis was on £100 million.

I did read somewhere that Foreman is the richest fighter ever (because of the grill) - how come he actually owns all rights to the grill ??

Ali I seem to remember is not actually worth that much but is technically loaded because he gets everything for free - nobody charges the greatest for anything.

As far as purses go I remember back in like 2002 I read Tyson had made

Mike Tyson..$335,000,000 and some change..

And in 2004 DLH had

De La Hoya...He has Racked up $400,000,000+

After that I am not sure....

I do know up untill the creation of Golden Boy Productions...DLH had made a Whopping $665,000,000 off of purses and promotional items (boxing related only could not say anything about his glorious career as a singer )

Of course they have both fought since then I ust remember those numbers because they were so astonishing...and like I said it was from boxing only not outside interest?....Right or wrong I dont know but I am sure the numbers are close

Mike Tyson, has to have SPENT the most money of any fighters ever. How in the fuck do you go negative from $335,000,000 ? I don't make very much money, but I still have money to save every week. It really boggles my mind.

But seriously it is not as hard as you would think....especially when you have heangers on that are sucking every penny from you...Buying 10 and 12 cars in excess of $100,000

$10,000,000 homes....$20,000 watches ect...then the IRS!!!!!...Also what they made and what they keep are two different things....$335,000,000...means $200,000,000 after expenses and paychecks...plus Tyson never really invested in anything to generate more money...
