Default HAYE TO MIX IT WITH THE BIG BOYS

European Cruiser-weight champion David Haye has announced he is making the step up to the heavy-weight division.
Haye has faced arduous battles to make weight at cruiser-weight level, but he can now put those to one side for the time being - confirming his next fight will be at heavy-weight in April.

The initial plan is for the English fighter to have one bout at heavy-weight, before returning to the cruiser-weight division for a WBC world title shot.

“He's set me the task of finding him a top-10 ranked heavy-weight in the world,” Haye's manager, Adam Booth, told Sky Sports News.

gotta love people who ask them selves questions to answer that no one actualy thinks or gives a shit about lol..

“People are thinking 'why are you getting in the ring with a dangerous heavy-weight when you've got the mandatory WBC cruiser-weight position - it doesn't really make sense?'

lets face it 1 no one cares, 2 everyone knows the truth.. the champions are bad enough as it is, so any joke heavy haye is about to fight aint gunna be dangerous by any means lol, not to mantion the fact haye is having a tought time making the 190 limit, the fact that most people at 190 now worth fighting hit harder and are more skilled than the heavys haye would fight next anyhow lol not as if he will be fighting for a world title or someone like peter, you know what fuck it fight james toney, he needs a fight

starting to lose faith in this guy. was a big big fan, now it seems he is moving to another devision so he doesn't get whooped by sum1 at 190 and lose his number 1 shot at bell.

ad-least enzo is fighting the IBF champ now he can't get haye, and that will pretty much land him a shot at bell if he wins next for a total amalgamation of the titles.

Wouldn't shock me if after fighting at heavy, haye goes and claims he can't make 190 anymore and stays up there and goes after the WBO belt, or come into the bell fight over the limit and try and fight bell in a nontitle

So who's he gonna fight then? There aren't too many good british journeymen about these days, and I don't think he'd likely to get a fight with Audley Harrison or Matt Skelton. I wouldn't want to see him in there with Danny Williams, Scott Gammer is British champ so I don't think its likely he'll get a british title shot in a one-off fight. There's one or two randoms out there who could take him on. Herbie Hide is making a comeback at cruiserweight apparently, that might provide some entertainment.

I'd like to see him in against some quality American journeymen, experienced pro's who'll push him a bit but not pose too much serious threat to his title shot. Haye's good enough to beat people like Monte Barrett, Owen Beck, Fres Oquendo, guys like that. It'd help build his profile over in the states too, which would help when negotiating the O'Neil Bell fight.

Bell fight would prolly take place in the UK, seems he is such a small name in the states he wouldn't really be able to headline an event, haye and enzo have and will be able to headline an event with ease, factor bell in and tickets will go very fast

Really? I think the way Haye has got on with things and the choices he has made would suggest that losing his ranking, good looks, 0 (already blown that ) isnt something that bothers him unduly.

If Haye can't get a shot at O'Neil Bell then making the move up to heavyweight is the logical step.

I think some of you guys are being too hypercritical of the heavyweight division.

If the best fighters were at cruiserweight as it seems some of you seem to believe than surely they would all have moved up and O Neil Bell, Jean Marc Mormeck and Steve Cunningham would all be heavyweight champs now right?

Haye has to my mind progressed quite nicely in his career so far. I for one would love to see him in a British heavyweight title fight against the winner of Danny Williams and Scott Gammer.

i think gammer is still a bit to green for haye right now, but haye is next to fight Bell; not that bell would have any reason to duck him, if he wont fight haye next he would have to vacate the WBC

Maccarinelli's people called my gym wanting a fight, so Enzo has the spirit of a champion. Whether he has the boxing skills of a champion is another question. I commend him for calling me up - I respect a man who know what he wants. That shows courage."

"Powerhouse Maccarinelli - who could fight Polish IBF champ Krzysztof Wlodarczyk if the Haye clash doesn't happen - concluded: "I'm the world's number two cruiserweight and Bell is number one so he'd be ideal."
