Thread: I'm not ranked by the WBC, but I knew what V Klitschko's deal was

I feel bad for Peter losing his front of the line status to fight Maskaev, but even I knew Klitschko had the “WBC Champion Emeritus” status, and I'm not ranked in the heavy weight division by the WBC. I knew what it meant too. It means he can come back and fight the wbc champ without regaining a ranking with the WBC. Its a privilege that Klitschko deserved because he never lost the belt in the ring. I've been a Vitali fan since the Lewis fight, and was disappointed to see him retire so soon after. I never thought he would come back, but I am glad to see he'll be back.

So my point is that I heard about this “WBC Champion Emeritus” status a year ago, and figured anyone in the running for the #1 spot to fight the champ had to also know this, unless your management is terrible and do not fill you in on this type of detail, or maybe that Peter race doesn't read.

Peter, your time will come, sit back and be patient.

Not trying to insult anyone there, but he had to have known that if Klitschko wanted to come back, there was rule in place that would allow Klitschko to bypass him.

If I knew, a casula boxing follower, team Peter had to have known.

You must have a sharp eye then because when Klitschko dropped the belt, he dropped it to the dismay of EVERYONE in boxing after flaking out on the Rahman fight for the 3rd time. He was almost shamed into retirement. I have never even heard of the term before much less the fact that Vitali had it. Let him fight Peter after Peter makes quick work of Maskaev. If Vitali really is cutting in line like this, then he can go to hell. Never had much of a problem with Vitali. But this is unacceptable. He hasn't fought since December of 04.

He LOST his title challenge to Lennox Lewis then inherited the belt almost by default, having only to beat Corrie Sanders for it. Then he followed it up with a victory over Danny Williams

The lewis issue is a complete other arguement.

Its not Vitali's fault the heavy weight division was at a stand-still in 2003-2004 and Lewis decided to retire with no rematch. Anyways, he wanted tyson, but tyson got whupped by williams, so vitali took the next best for the $$$.

Tyson was nobody. Even if he beat him it would mean nothing. He took the fight for money but still...Vitali's biggest victory was a loss to Lennox Lewis. He fought just two fighters worth anything in his career, Lewis and Byrd. He lost them both.

Peter meanwhile stepped up big against Toney twice and has actually fought in the last 2 years.

However, who else should he have fought in his 37 fight with 35 wins and 34 kos career during one of the weakest points in the heavy weight division, while he was on his way up?

I can't think of anyone he ever avoided except his brother .
