Default Zahir Raheem won last night

    http://www.fightnews.com/fightnews_2...AVQwxAFtJ.html

I know there are quite a few fans here.

IBF #4 lightweight Zahir Raheem (28-2) won an eight round shutout over Armando Cordova (23-33-2) Friday night at the Osage Million Dollar Elm Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Raheem dropped Cordova in the seventh round and won 80-71 on all cards

If Raheem was any other name wouldn't Arum be completely trying to show him off to the world? Why is Raheem getting the shaft just because he beat Morales? He should have gotten a mega push, maybe even fought Pacquiao, anything at all. I know he got a shot at Freitas but thats only because the organization was forcing it on his promoter(shocker) and now he's doing these kind of off TV fights? If Arum still manages him why is he trying to squander his talent

I read the interview where he was talking about a chance. He has 2 more fights on his contract and then he's gone.

But I think if he tried to leave now and sign with someone else(such as Golden Boy) then Arum would pull it back and try to turn it into ANOTHER court battle

Raheem did get rewarded for his Morales win. He got the Freitas fight. For the WBC title. Nobody's fault that he lost but his own's.

The Freitas fight could have gone either way . If the judges just gave him the nod instead Raheem would be on peoles p4p lists now after beating Morales then Freitas . He'd be a huge player . As it is the decision went against him and his fights arent even televised . Through no fault of his own . Its all in teh hands of the judges but Raheem can come again cuz as they say , you cant keep true talent down .

He is proven against guys liek Juarez and Morales . He pushed Freitas close so no doubt the guy is world class . Good on his feet , nice reflexes . Wouldnt be surprised if he picks up a title within the next year

I think morales lost to raheem only because he came unfocus, but since raheem did win he did get to fight freitas, but raheem lost so too bad for him. imo arum knows theres no future for raheem as a star, I think he just a one win wonder.

NO Raheem is getting no attention because the win over Morales was his 15 minutes....Arum knows there is no money to be made with this guy...He will never be a top draw even if he became the Ring champ....The guy has no appeal.....A win against what started the downslide of Morales...( right place right time..)...and close dec loss to Freitas ( who is another flash in the pan).....Will be what Raheem has to brag about in his years as an old man

CC totally agree. He's moaning but that Fritas fight was his chance and he blew it. That was a horrible, messy fight and I thought alot of that was because of Raheem. Had he boxed more, used his inititive,he would have won easier and would have looked better too.

Raheem was guilty of alot of holding against Freitas but the only time he ever met a guy with that kind of power was Jaurez and he lost that night too . He was even floored by a left hook . He didnt touch down against Freitas and had no intentions of doing so and thats why it was such a messy affair . He was intimidated by the Brazilians power . Or atleast thats what I thought whilst watching it . Freitas wasnt innocent either but it was just a bad clash of styles .

Raheem can look super if you put him in with the right fighter just ask Morales . I wonder if Jesus Chavez could deal with his slippery style . When you compare both men against Morales , you'd have to give Raheem a decent chance . He should avoid Casamayor like the plague but any other lightweight you'd give Raheem half a chance of pulling off the upset

The problem with Zahir Raheem is he doesn't have any entertainment value to his fights and thats not his opponents fault its his. When you have the ability to make boring fights with the likes of Erik Morales and Acelino Freitas than you should know its going to be hard to be a big draw. He is an akward fighter and he does alot of holding and below the belt hitting all of which combine to make him an undesirable fighter. Don't get me wrong he is a great fighter but he doesn't make great fights and thats what people want to see.

you can't tell me raheem isn't getting a raw deal. i didn't even know he had a fight lastnight. plus at this point in his career there is no reason for raheem to be fighting a guy who is
23-33-2. yeah he lost to freitas but it was a close fight. morales got a boxing lesson from raheem and still fought PAC. so don't give me that he got a shot and he loss shit.

Be realistic bro...what was Raheem getting when he got the chance to fight Freitas? The shaft? He had a chance to box, show his skills and he would have won easily. And his win over Morales was impressive but it was Morales moving up in weight,Morales who did not study the tapes,a Morales who just wanted to war.

I would like to see him a few times on ESPN2 this year. Even if he is fighting lesser opponents I'd still like to see him in action.
