Default Roberto Duran V Julio C Chavez who wins and why (lightweight in primes)!!

This for me wud have been a wonderful fight to watch between two great fighters, and having thought long and hard over a long time its just so hard to see a winner. Both had great chins , both had under rated boxing ability , Duran was probably more versitile , mouthwatering 15 round draw for me with lots of latino fire and passion a 50/50 pick em fight. please tell me your opinions on the outcome and why guys .
    cheers chaps.

Id go with Duran by decision. imo he fought the better competition at lightweight and was an all around better fighter for the most part

I lit up like a christmas tree when i read the title!

What a fight this would of been!!! Im sure there would of been a few 10-8 rounds in this one (from fouling alone )

Potentially one of the greatest matchups ever!...While I am a bigger Duran fan, I honestly believe Chavez wins this one!...Chavez' prime was a more disciplined fighter, he fought "compact" with a murderous body attack...Duran while technically very good fought mostly on rage and "Machismo" when pushed, enjoying punishing an opponent... both had great chins, hearts and power..but i think the sustained chavez attack and duran's instistance of standing toe to toe would give chavez and advantage and ultimately a decision...

If I remember correctly the 1st time we did this match up it was 13 to 9 for Duran, but this was like early 2005......

And I think we did one sometime mid 2006 but not a lot of people replied to it.......

At Lighweight they were both tremendous fighters, HUGE fan of both of them. But my instincts tell me Duran would walk away with a Decision.......
And those closing rounds like the 10, 11 & 12 would have been brutal......

IMO Duran is a totally different league than JCC, and he either KO's Chavez or walks away with an easy decision... I never liked Chavez.

At his best at Lightweight, the only fighter who would run him close is Leonerd

No wonder you see it as "easy" for Duran . Never liked Chavez, eh? There are some fighters out there that I just don't like and would like to see KOed but that doesn't mean I don't see their qualities as good fighters. I want to see Floyd Mayweather jr. get KOed of course but I know for sure he is a talented boxer and when he faces De La Hoya ANYTHING can happen on both sides.

Anyways...I don't see it easy for Duran or Chavez. As for body punches, Chavez definitely!

what a great fight this would be. Im certain of one thing. it would go the whole 15. people assume duran would win this easy. i dont think so. i think duran would set the pace but chavezs body shots could possibly slow down hands of stone down the stretch

i think duran would find enough in the tank though to nick a 15 rd split decision but were only talking about 1 or 2 points tops
