Thread: Who REALLY won the Lennox-Vitali fight?

I watched it and Vitali WAS ahead on points.

His eye was bleeding, but that was no reason to stop the entire fight.

Vitali could of destroyed Lennox in THAT fight imho.

What do you think?

Please, it was an unfortunate way to finish a fight, but he legitimately lost

Lewis won by tko stoppage because of a cut caused by a punch. Scorecards are irrelevant (shit i've used that word so many times today).

It's like saying James Toney lost to Michael Nunn simply because Nunn was ahead before Toney Ko's him. Unless you disagree with cuts being a good enough reason to stop a fight, your topic has very little substance.

To me it is an irrelevant fight because Lennox was at the end of his career and while it was competitve it didnt go on very long and i believe that if it did Lennox would prevail anyways. Vitali wasnt exactly putting on a clinic. I think it is sad that this was the highlight of Vitalis career but thats just my honest opinion

Lewis won by TKO, people who try and make out Vitali won are just retarded.

technically lewis won that because the cut was cause by a punch. but imo vitaly would of won if it could of continued.

and this is coming from a fan of both lennex "the lion" lewis and vitaly "fatality" klitschko.

Lewis was winning the more later rounds of that fight, It was very competitive though...but Lewis was beginning to impose himself...

jeez how many times has this been descussed what do mean who really won this wasnt close decision victory vitalis eye was cut so bad that he could of been blinded lewis won no question how can anyone think otherwise ??

In my opinion Sergio Lyakhovich would have won against Shannon Briggs if he hadn't been punched clean out of the ring in the last 30 seconds.

Maybe I should start a thread about it

Ok...it was the 6th round. Scorecards in the 6th round are irrelevant. Zab was also winning the fight with PBF after the 6th round scorecards. He had a cut that was one of the more gruesome we have ever seen, rarely does a cut under the eye cause a fight to be stopped but I think if it went any longer the USDA would have been the ones to to check out his eye not the ringside doctor.

Another factor is Lewis was progressively getting better and better during the fight... He seemed ill-prepared before hand, but he was getting going in the last two rounds.

Exactly. We'll never know who would have won that fight. Vitali was doing real good, but at the time of the stoppage Lewis was getting back into the fight IMO. So we'll never know who would have won had it gone on longer.

I think the fight said a lot of good things about both fighters personally. Vitali obviously got the crowd behind him because he put up such a good showing against the best HW of this era and people felt bad for him to lose in such a bad way. Lennox showed me a lot because he came into the bout old and not in shape, and he showed a champions heart and managed to snatch the victory.

maybe you should, i would be on that thread, because i hate how briggs got lucky in the last second and k.oed tired sergio, and how sergio himself gave away his win to dumb luck.

As big as a fan that I'am of Vitali, he lost no if's and or but's about it.....
