If Gatti pops Malignaggi's eye out onto his cheek then he might win. (Something I envisioned Cherry doing last night.) Other then that I give him zero chance.Originally Posted by cockey cockney

Even though Malignaggi did well against Cotto and was able to stand up to some big shots IMO he can't brawl with Gatti at the Pace Gatti would set to do it...

Would definately be intersting, contrast of styles and and strengths. We know Gatti isnt gettin knocked out by Paulie, but can he box with him? I think hes just a little too slow, and Paulie worships the guy, so I dont think he wants to fight him....but that fight could draw a big audience so $$$$ talks. If the fight did happen at least we wouldnt have to worry about Gatti getting hurt.
Gatti is great, but if Cotto couldn't knock him out I can't see Gatti doing it either. Malignaggi has got a pretty good chin from what I have seen.
Thats a very good point about Malignaggi being a fan of Gatti's. I recall Paulie ringside at the Baldomir fight yelling his head off in support. Im not too sure that this is a fight that will come off.Originally Posted by No Contest
I wouldnt mind Gatti having one last fight before retiring, but it shouldnt be against any elite fighter...

Didn't Paulie just say in a recent interview that he wouldn't fight Gatti because of that very reason?
So I don't know how much I trust this article, but I guess if the money's right, anyone would fight anyone.
Gatti wins this fight if he wants to though.
If he tries to box with him, I think Paulie takes an easy decision.
But if Gatti even remotely presses Paulie, power for power there's no contest inside.
I don't care how many wars Gatti's been in, Paulie's not hurting him and Gatti still has dangerous power.
Gatti if he wants it.
(And another vote from me for Gatti - Corrales instead of this fight.)
Paulio will win this fight i think. I really think he will have a lot in the running of the 140 and he will turn into a really decent name. I think i fight like this would give him the spring into the top 10 for sure and i really fancie him to outwork Gatti. I dont think this fight would do a lot in terms of getting a bigger fight for Gatti imo he could probablly get a shot at a 140 title. It would make a lot of money but i think Gatti should give up boxing, he aint as good as he use to be.
I can see a UD for PM
Going off there last fight, I'd have to say Malignaggi by UD, Arturo looks shot, even his punching power looks as if it has diminished.
This shouldn't even be a discussion. Gatti is completely shot. Plus his hand now breaks every time he gets in the ring. He should have retired immediately after the PBF fight, if not before. To the poster who said Gatti didn't look shot against Baldy, I respectfully disagree.
Every minute Gatti spends in the ring is just that much more brain damage. The guy is killing himself, literally.
Gatti is done.
Honestly you could put Gatti vs....... and that alone would be enough for me to go mortgage my house on the .......without even needing to check who ........ actually was.
Defeat in his final fight is as certain as death and taxes.
If his final fight was Gatti vs the heavybag I'd fancy him to lose on cuts
There are some new reports that apperantly there is not some bad blood between the two stemming from some comments by Gatti. Looks like he idolizes him no moreOriginally Posted by meowza
Psalm 144: Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle
fight most likely wont happen cause Malignaggi idolizes Gatti and he has too much respect for him to go 10 to 12 rounds with him, if you watched the Gatti/Baldomir fight Malignaggi was in the crowd and you can tell just from his facial expressions that he was hurt seeing Gatti go down the way he did.
