I don't think Oscar is back i think he is the same fighter who struggled with Sturm and got stopped by Hopkins i think this fight is'nt as big as we think it is Mayweather v Mosely would have been bigger and tougher

MOSLEY IS GARBAGE HE IS NOT A CONSISTENT FIGHTER AND A UNCONSISTENT FIGHTER IS NOT A GOOD FIGHTER

Tysonbruno, I think you forget that Oscar only had troubles with Sturm and HOpkins because of their size, and height advantage. He has never been truly outboxed even when he used just one hand, and was facing Pernell Whitaker, and prime Mosley. I think this fight will be overhyped if people are expecting the slugfest of the century, but in terms of its importance, and who's fighting I can't see it being over hyped. Both have done so much, and deserve so much that this fight deserves to be recognized. On the contrary to what I've been saying ODLH got hit cleanly Mayorga a few times, and I think he will be asitting goose for PBF if PBF decides to box from the outside.

No the fight is not over hyped.

This fight is good for boxing & has many MANY people talking casual fans, die hards, & even non boxing fans are giving it the going over...that's a rarity.

As far as Oscar being gone or Mayorga making him look good...I disagree on both in a sense. Mayorga, IWO, is a chump & stuck his neck out like a fool...but Oscar looked good against Mosley in the 2nd fight...I was there & to this day still say that Oscar won the fight.

Against Sturm? He lost...& that's the way I will always feel. He came in plump & hadn't a grip on 160 or who he was facing.

Against Hopkins? Again...another fighter that I love...Oscar didn't do that bad. He went toe to toe with Hopkins for about 5-6 rounds...it didn't last. Oscar was out of his weight class & element against Hopkins. No shame there.

Boxing needs this fight as much as the fans do. Simple as that...no...it aint over hyped...it's necessary.

The question that I want answered before the fight is...can Floyd handle the weight.

The thing with me & this fight is that these are two of my favorites in my top 5 list & I keep on saying that no matter who wins...I win...but that's horse shit.

I'll be honest here...arrogant or not...hated or not...I want Floyd to win this one.

Believe you me, I love & respect Oscar...always have & always will...but I want Floyd to go down as what he is...an all time great.

If he totally breezes through Oscar...sure everyone will say that Oscar was too old & so on & so on...but true fans know & will recognize the accomplishment that he makes if he beats Oscar.

i dont post here that often because of school n what not but i love you in a completely heterosexual way...hmmm,anyway...i think oscar is/was a cracking fighter...but i feel his power if in his left hook(which a few have said) which floyd is practically immune to, people have said he could (or oscars jab may deside teh fight) but i think floyd can counter anything odlh has due to pure speed and accuracy

anyone trying to compare this fight to floyd vs catillo I though is a complete and utter muppet

Truthfully...at the end of the night...I don't see how this fight could be a bad fight. No matter what Floyd shows up & no matter what Oscar shows up...it'll either be a technical brawl or a thinking mans war.

There will be rounds that Floyd is back pedalling & punching while Oscar tries to press...but honestly...I just think that it'll be a good one no matter what.

The fact is that Floyd aint gonna knock Oscar out & it'll go 12 rounds...but I really don't believe that people believe Oscar is going to get the better of Floyd like he did Mayorga. Making a comparison & analysis of the upcoming match based on the Mayorga fight is about as wack as making a comparison on:

oh its completely hetero ...people are saying it may depend on floyd bottling it from over confidence, but i cant imagine the gym rat doing that...hes gonna want to put on a performance...and i see people saying oscar has to get him on the ropes or dominate the jab, but floyd is practically unparraled on the ropes and i think hes quick anough to counter oscars jabs, i dont want to sound like a nuthugger but i dont see how oscar will win it, i hope he makes it competitive, i really do, but in the end of the day i want mayweather to win, not retire and fight top level compitition so he can put his skill level up there with the best on record

No matter what Floyd says...no matter what Oscar says...I think that the factors in this fight are going to be size & age.

Floyd's got the age advantage & that also equates to speed that Oscar has lost & Floyd still has.

The size clearly is Oscar's advantage & if he connects it will be something that Floyd has never felt. Oscar is a hard hitter...I can't remotely relate to anyone that says Oscar can't crack.

I want it to be competitive too...Lord knows I pretty much sold a kidney to get ringside for this one. Golden Bwoy Productions basically owns my ass on this one. I sunk a shitload of cash to be at this one with NO REGRETS!!!

That being said, Im with ya 100%. I too want Floyd to win and continue to fight top level competition or atleast shut up some of his critics & hammer Hatton & Margarito out of the squared circle.

Well it depends on what you mean by hard hitter. Oscar has never been or will never be a devestating puncher at 147 or above. His big KOs came in the lower weight classes.

He is a very good puncher, but he has never had the ability to seriously hurt a guy with one punch at this weight class. His punching skills revolve around his left hook to the body, which is the type of punch that wears the opponent down over the course of a fight. I always feel like this type of punch isn't that effective against a defensive whiz like Mayweather, because you have to land it a lot for the accumulation to build up, and Mayweather isn't going to let you land the same punch over and over again.

ill soon learn how to sort out quotes...but anyway.\im not goin to pretend im a genius on ODLH..the only access to his fight besides mayorga( which i thin is irrelevant) is on the internet ( i cant even d/l things) but from what i hear his main power is his left hook, which i think will be practically nullified...not too say he cant crack in any other punches!! but as you say, floys has only taken a limited amount of flush punches( i do think h has a good chin though) but nothing ever from a man oscars size, which could cause him trouble if he does what he says he will and trade!! im as jealous as fwock that you have tickets! good on you sir im in envy! about hammering hatton and margarito...id only like to see hatton floyd at 140 (which i dont think will happen) which i think he'd win anyway , anything above that i think he would school them both.

I agree that Mayweather isn't going to stand there & allow him to land the same shots...but Oscar's power is a lot like Floyd's it's accuracey & accumulation.

I stick by my opinion on Oscar's power...it's there & he's dropped many men of late to put the proof in the pudding. Of recent date Oscar has stopped Vargas, Campas, & Gatti. I'm not or never have stated that Oscar or Floyd were devastating punchers...but they have power in their own rights.

Honestly...I think that Floyd has underratted power. You (not meaning you...broad finger pointing) sit back & watch his matches against Mitchell, Augustus, Corrales, Juuko, Gatti, & even Judah...when he comes on & starts landing combos you can actually see him breaking down his opponent...it shows on their faces.

He just chips away & once he's got em soft...he starts bombing away & that's all she wrote.

Not sure that he can accomplish such against someone like Oscar...but I would shit my pants if he did.
