Default What are the current ODDS on PBF vs ODLH??????

Hey mis amigos! I say lets do a thread on what are the current odds on the supposedly BIGGEST fight of man kind come CINCO DE MAYO, you all know what I am talking about Oscar De La Hoya vs Floyd Mayweather Junior!!!!!! Since we are just 2 months away from this supposedly record shattering event for OUR great sport I say we do a thread here about the ODDS on the fight. So we keep the thread going and every couple of weeks or so we update it with the current odds. So we know each time we check it who is favored and by how much etc etc.

So as of right now what are the odds on the fight who is favored to win and by how much? hollaaaaaaaaar

Odds written like that really make no sense to me, how does it work?
Anyway the best ive seen here is 2/1 for De La Hoya and 1/2 for Mayweather.

    -225/+185 ODDS
these are the odds for betting.
Betting on a fight especially if your there watching the fight makes it really interesting!
When you go to Vegas or wherever and see the pre fight weigh in etc and then watch the odds change adds a whole new dimension of interest to the fight! IMO
You don't have to bet a huge pile.

The minus fighter is the favorite
The plus fighter is the underdog

If Floyd is -225 then that means you have to bet $225 dollars on him to win $100 (plus the $225 you bet)
So $225 bet gets you $325 if he wins

Oscar is the underdog at +185
So you only have to bet $100 DOLLARS on him to win $185 (plus the original $100)
So $100 bet gets you $285 back (looks pretty good if your an Oscar fan huh!)

Obviously (i hope) the odds are different for each fighter so that the house has an edge
If you bet on both fighters and layed 325 you'd get back
Floyd win you get back 325
    Oscar win get back 285

understand? I bet on 4 fights maybe 2 years ago
    Evander/Donald
    Byrd/McCline
    Rahman/Meehan
    Ruiz/Golota

    I picked Donald/Byrd/Rahman/Golota at $500 per fight
I won on 3 fights and made I think $1100 profit!
I actually though Golota beat Ruiz and would have made more!
You can also sometimes 'LINK' the fights like a trifector so your betting that you'll be right on all 4 (minimum 3 bet) fights the odds go WAY up so $2000 bet might make you 6 or 8 grand! but if your wrong on one fight you lose it all!
I really enjoy it and It makes the fights more interesting!
The issue is do you bet with your heart or with your wallet and brain!?
I picked Larry Donald BUT I wanted Evander to win...
    Questions??

The odds will change as the bets get laid.
Different casinos have there own odds which might vary a bit
If the fav or underdog gets huge bets the odds will change for sure
Only bad part about betting (at vegas) is you have to cash the chit in person with in one year.
But..it does make for a fun trip
I bet years ago on NHL hockey
it was 3000 to 1 for Minnesota north stars to win the stanley cup
My bro is a huge star fan
I laid $10 on a bunch of teams for buddies for xmas presents
    Oilers,canadians,leafs etc at 3:1 8:1 25:1 etc
the north stars went all the way to the cup finals!!!
my brother had a $10 ticket at 3000 to one!!!
he could have won $30,000 !!!!!
you wanna bet he was watching the games! and saying
"man I have $30,000 on the north stars to win!"
    and he really did!!
now they have shaved the odds back to maybe 1000:1 or so
BUT! its still A LOT OF FUN IMO!
same for boxing! if your spending 2 or 3 grand to go and watch a fight a few $100 or so more betting makes it more intense! I love it!

Cheers you just dont see odds written like that here in the UK only in America I think. So the odds I found of 1/2 for Mayweather (as in you stake 2 to win 1) and 2/1 for De La Hoya (stake 1 to win 2) are better. I usually use www.oddschecker.com to find the best before I make my bets. Its worth checking out.
