Default Randy Courture VS. Fedor Eliminenko

Even though he outpointed Tim Silvia, will he even have a chance at Fedor? or even Mirko at that matter?

I think Fedor is better than Mirko, but I think Randy would have a better chance with Fedor. Randy can go to the ground with anyone, and Fedor would go there with him. Randy has always had a rough time with dominant strikers like Mirko though.

I'm no longer sure of that. Randy is one hell of an athlete.

Fedor is an ATG, but I don't really think he's the Superman everyone makes him out to be. He's a very smart fighter, in that he gets himself in positions where things could go horribly wrong for him, yet he still wins. I don't think Fedor's stand-up would bother Couture that much, and even though Fedor has a lot of ground game, Randy's as good as anyone on the ground. Definitely a fight I'd like to see.

Everyone is high on Randy now..... which he is a hell of an athlete and deserves his props, but lets not forget he beat a tomato can in Sylvia. Seriously folks Fedor is the best MMA fighter in the world BAR NONE Fedor has fast Heavy hands and Excellent takedown and Takedown defense... I know everyone is sentimental towards Randy for a good win... Same as people were high on Hopkins after he beat Tarver

Tarver and Sylvia are both Way Overrated... Fedor absolutely Murders Randy within the 1st round

When I think about Fedor's opponents and who did the best I personally thought Coleman looked the best in their first fight up until the point Fedor pulled off that sick arm bar from the bottom. Coleman had taken his back and was controlling the fight. The man to beat fedor has to be able to physically impose himself on Fedor. Your not going to win a slugfest(the man took Fujita's best shots) w/him so either you use excellent grappling technique combined w/ superior athleticism to keep the fight standing up and wear him down or take your chances w/GNP(not suggested). Randy has shown great wrestling and athleticism, but he has also shown that he can be ko'd. Randy would be game and have some good moments but eventually would either be brutally TKO'd or ref stoppage from a sick submission.

In MMA, moreso even than in boxing, styles make fights. Randy has the style and skillset to make Fedor's life a living hell. In fact, I'd give Randy a better chance against Fedor than I'd give him against Mirko, or even Liddell again. Fedor is a better fighter than either, but styles make fights.

This will be an interesting fight with Fedor being the favorite, but hey Randy always comes up surprising us.

    I agree!
Randy's gettin old but is in great shape and is smart as hell.He seems to use a fighters strenghts sorta against themself.Coleman fought Fedor well and he's not even close to the fighter Randy is!I know Fedor would be the "pick" but I don't know that I'd put much money on it.But hey,Randy's gotta get past Gonzaga, and from what I've seen he might be the "new" guy to beat.

I agree. this bout would lead to the first death in MMA.
Randy is a great fighter. However, he left the Heavy Weight Class for a reason. He couldn't hang with the better UFC heavyweights. He did great at LHW. until Chuck come knocking on his door the second time.
imo, the only reason he came out of retirement was to take the HW title from Sylvia, b/c too many mma fans dislike Sylvia, and Dana wants a friendly face as the HW champ.

so long story short Fedor would murder captain america.
