Agreed...but I've seen Wlad knocked the fwock out on a couple of different occassions.

All the excuses in the world don't justify a loss for a fighter...believe you me...I've tried to make some bone headed ones up in my day.

If Valuev continues to win fights...he deserves the credit...not constant detractions. Now...if he keeps on winning & then loses to Wlad...I have no issues with that...pretty much everyone get's wacked the fwock out against Wlad...but...what I wanna know is this:

What happens if Valuev blasts Wlad out?

    What will everyone say then?

Wlad's made one hell of a comeback. He's beaten most of the men he's faced by knockout...if Valuev were to beat him...that would be saying something about Valuev that no one would want to admit...so honestly...I don't know why I even ask.
Valuev has been on the benefit of more the one German home cooking , the guy has been protected from threats his whole career. You give him way to much credit Wacko .. aside from being awkwardly monstrous in size, he is a cream puff. his skills have improved slightly over the years no doubt , but what a shame of a record. and for him to be mentioned in the same sentence as Rocky Marciano is a fucking joke, Valuev’s camp is always talking about breaking that record. The difference between the two is Cut N Dry . Marciano fought the best of his era. This chump Valuev has been dodging the threats of his era . my point is anyone can stay at a certain level and build a meaningless record . The Great fighters have what it takes to move up and fight real competitionwin lose of draw is no consequence

I agree that he is no way near Marciano in terms of acomplishment but really Marciano is overratted anyway.

His three biggest wins came against two old age pensioners and a light heavyweight.

Walcott would have beaten him in his prime and he was the 40's and 50's Frank Bruno.

Once again...things are indeed heating up:

WBO Heavyweight contender Sultan Ibragimov is looking forward to getting his shot at champion Shannon Briggs on June 2, in his home country of Russia. “I’ve been ready for Briggs for a long time and I’m just waiting to win the belt officially back home in Russia,” said Ibragimov. “June 2nd will be a big night for me and my fans.” The unbeaten Ibragimov’s promoters, Seminole Warriors Boxing, Golden Boy Promotions, and Golden Grain Promotions, have finalized plans to bring the WBO Heavyweight Championship bout to Moscow, Russia on June 2.

    ...and then there is this:

"They aren't showing me the respect you should show a world champion..."

WBO Heavyweight Champion Shannon Briggs has released the following statement in response to today's press release from mandatory challenger Sultan Ibragimov's camp: "I'm the Heavyweight Champion of the whole world, so it doesn't matter where I defend the title. As for running from Iggy, that's a joke! I'm from Brownsville, never ran and never will! I got nothing against Iggy but he's in way over his head and he's gonna get hurt. I hope this billionaire backer of his set Iggy up with a pension plan because on June 3, he's going to be looking for a new source of income. They aren't showing me the respect you should show a world champion and taking shots at me while I was suffering from pneumonia was classless. Then again Leon and Samson never did have any class."

The prospects of this fight are actually a bit exciting to ole' wackster. ...NUFF SAID!

Cheers Wacko, I was kinda bracing myself for a barrage of sadclicks after that statement so glad to see I'm not alone.

I also happen to think Joe Louis was held in far too high regard as well.

In my opinion Jack Johnson, Gene Tunney and Jack Dempsey all rank higher than Marciano and Louis.

Well read between the lines Wacko. What I meant was....

If Nicolay Valuev fought Wladimir Klitschko it would mean Nicolay would be fighting the best boxer, hardest puncher, fastest puncher, biggest fighter, and best athlete of his whole career whereas Wladimir would just be fighting the biggest fighter he's ever fought and as Ray Austin and others have found out Wladimir doesn't have trouble with taller fighters.

As for Jack Dempsey and Gene Tunney....Dempsey didn't fight black fighters, he had 5 title defenses. Gene Tunney did a great job at 175 and only had a few fights at heavyweight. Great fighters though by all means but I think Rocky and Louis are better

    Thank you, CC back.

I love Dempsey and Tunney but they didn't do the most at heavyweight.

    Tunney-Greb was a GREAT rivalry

For someone who is just not hip with the lingo of todays youth, what the hell does he was freakin kite surfing mean?

It sounds like it should mean the same as he was walking a tightrope, meaning there was no margin for error but I'm certain by the way you said your sentence that you meant to make it sound that Wladdy was a lot more impressive than that?

    Am I really this old?
No I mean literally, kite surfing. Its where you strap a surfboard to your feet and use a huge kite to propel you across the water/waves. Its a fairly new extreme sport, which takes alot of agility.

I know what kite surfing is I just don't know what you mean when you say Wlad was Kite surfing against Austin?

Was Austin the board he was riding? Or is he the sea that Wladdy is riding his board on?

I guess that would make sense as you could say Wladdy was tap dancing on Austins ass and have meant the same thing?

    Is that what you mean?

I thought Merchant said that "The kite surfing Wladimir did was more challenging than the fight vs Austin"

No, hehe they did a little segment where they showed Wladamir kite surfing. He probably couldve kite surfed all over Austin, but I doubt they would let him bring it into the ring.

Ah my bad so it really was literally then! I've seen the fight but it didn't have that segment on it!

    Excuse my stupidity :P
