Manny Steward's next big time middleweight Andy Lee is fighting on the card as well
Funny you should say that. He actually is a warehouse manager, for K-Mart. He works 50 hours a week. He's a single dad. He still finds time to train, and he's Italian. I'd love to see him K that Irishman TFO.Originally Posted by Bilbo

Everybody hates us Irish, jealousy is a mofo.....Duddy doesny get any respect, even tho he showed alot of heart in the Campas fight, he won but the cards should have been a little closer.
Ahahahahahaa that stoopid number 1 dad cap was a joke.Originally Posted by Bilbo
Maybe his kids got it for him. In which case it would be a very sweet thing to do and he would probably be wearing it because his sons gave it to him, and thats heartwarmingOriginally Posted by cockey cockney
Glad to see another Bonsante fan on here. Actually he was my favourite contender on the show for that very reason. All of the other Contenders, Ishe, Manfredo, Brinkley etc were young guns with something to prove and were vocal in deciding who was going to fight whom etc.Originally Posted by Brockton Bomber
Bonsante was about 34 years old, his career was virtually over and he was fighting purely to get as far in the competition as possible so as to get a nice couple paydays to secure his family. So he basically decided that popularity and pride were less important than providing for his kids, a decision of which I supported him 110%
When he took on Brent Cooper me and my brother were cheering Bonsante to the rafters, not because we didn't like Cooper, he seemed a nice guy, but becuase Bonsante was fighting for his family. He put his kid's well being before his own popularity and I liked that, even though hardly anybody else I've spoken to about the show saw it that way at all.
Most people think he was treacherous and two faced but they've got it wrong. He didn't go in there to make friends, he went in there to win a million dollars. Why the F*** should he care what Ishe Smith or Jesse Brinkley felt about him not wanting to fight Jimmy Lange?
In my opinion he was probably the most honest person on the show because he never claimed to be somebody he wasn't. Guys like Brinkley, Ishe and Gilbert were the real two faced guys on the show.
Thats just my two cents worth anyway, and for being a Bonsante fan too
cc back at ya. And Gilbert was by far the worst out of all of them. You could definitely tell that kid was a lawyer. He will be successful in boxing though, just likely not as a fighter.
Yeah I know that all of the other contenders were furious about the way Gilbert was portrayed on the show, they claimed the show made him out to be an all American here whereas in actual fact he was always complaining, always faking injuries to get out of being asked to toe the line and always bitching about the others behind their backs.Originally Posted by Brockton Bomber
Got to say I still liked Gilbert though and I do admire what he's managed to do with his life, he's a boxing promoter now as well as a fighter, a lawyer and is always doing exhibitions for the yank troops in Iraq, plus he's the chief spokesman for Sly's bodybuilding nutrition product range.
But after Stallones drug bust in Australia last week he may well be resigning that post and distancing himself from a known drug abuser

Poor Barrera is all I can say. I really wanted him to go out on a high but with you in his corner I'm expecting him to collapse with exhaustion around the 10th roundOriginally Posted by miles
When I was a young boy at primary school we had a school fete. One of the competitions was to guess how many sweets were in this huge jar. The one closest to the correct answer would win the huge jar of delightful confectionary. I recall paying my 20 pence and decisively declaring that there were 726 sweets in the jar. Later that day my name was announced and I was the winner and had been the only one to guess the number accurately. I took home my jar of tooth rotters and was well chuffed with myself!!Originally Posted by Bilbo
Bilbo, I have picked correctly once before and I truly hope to do so again before my limited time on this planet runs its course!!
What you need to do is bet on whoever you think will win, but have an agreement that somebody else will bet a much more substantial amount on who you think will lose on the understanding that you split the winnings.
You could become a very rich man.
