Default Marquez-Barrera II, anyone?Rematch date being discussed!

    http://www.ufcfightnews.com/FIGHTS20...ight-mar17.htm

In the closing moments of the post-fight press conference, Golden Boy president Richard Schafer awarded the media, and those in attendance, with the news that HBO had penciled in Marquez-Barrera II for September 16—the week of Mexican Independence Day.

I'm not sure what I want. JMM MAB2 equals classic BUT would the winner have enough in the tank to beat Pacman>? I doubt it. What if MAB wins, will there be a third fight? Whereas BOTH have unresolved business with Pac. I'm just not sure, and who knows,MAB may just decide to retire.

I never like the idea of immediate rematches, even when the first fight is a great fight. Personally, I think Barrera should retire. He has already proven he is a great fighter, and he has been in a ton of wars over the years and has absorbed a lot of punishment.
If he fights Marquez again, I think he loses again. If he fights Pacquiao again, I think he would get Ko'd again.
I think Barrera should call it quits, and Marquez and Pacquiao should have their rematch to crown an undisputed champion at 130 pounds.

I hope not, I mean it happened and thats that JMM should strike while the iron is hot and go after PAC hes not getting any younger and if he goes through another fight like that by the time he gets to PAC hes gonna be a carcus....

Great fight very well done by both fighters BUT I say move on JMM and go for it now you've waisyted too much time of your career by bad management don;t let it happen again.....

I agree with you guys, for once,I think there is no need for a rematch. Like I said,it would take so much more out of them,Pac would most certainly beat the winner. Unless the Pac fight cannot be made at all,I think JMM should go and fight him next UNLESS MAB REALLLLLLLY wants a rematch, like badly, then I dont think JMM is going to turn him down.

I do fancy Pac over both fighters at this stage though,he would simply overwhelm MAB who could not keep JMM and Pac is far far more agressive and as for JMM,his defence, although still good,is not as good as it used to be. I think in his last 3 fights, his face has been more marked up than at any point in his career combined!! He's just more open and taking into account Manny's improvements,I think he beats them both(it pains me to say that and I hope I'm worng)

Not so sure MAB wants it.

Anyone seen him get that frustrated?

Morales never got him flustered enough to lose his bearings like that...clocking him whilst down.

Barrera had some severe issues with Marquez...hell Marquez had severe issues with Barrera...but he did win.

Gotdam that fight was beautiful man.

Probably will be a rematch...but Barrera didn't sound like he wanted one.

The bruises need to heal before we start talking about rematches. It was a great fight and to be honest im still bathing in the reflection of it. I cannot even contemplate a rematch at the moment.

Both fighters fought tremendously and both deserve their props. Barrera has shown all that he can still mix it up at the top.
