You are probably right, I guess the only way to solve this is to have the fight in sunny Arizona!!

Neutral ground and within driving distance for me, CutmeMick and Violent Demise!!
Thats the problem. Anywhere outside the UK or Denmark all you have turning-up is one man and his dog.
Seriously though, they have both been on HBO now which in my estimation makes a credible statement for a good draw on neutral ground.
It wont happen on neutral ground. That doesn't make sense. They're big names in their countries, and the boxing world, nowhere else.

But it would be me and my dog
    I was wondering

    Mick or VD?

Joe already HAS relinquished the IBF strap. He did so, to make the great Manfredo fight possible. The window of oppertunity for a 4 belt unification is gone for now.
But Kessler-Calzaghe would still be the closests the division has ever come to complete unification and having an undisputed champ.

like it or not calzaghe is the ring champion and the undisputed champion, thats what the ring belt means. there neevr was a window to get all 4 abc betls on one champion, kessler would of have to dropped the wbc had he faced calzaghe,a nd the ibf would of still stripped calzaghe of the IBF belt - also if kessler gets stripped of the wbc i *think* am not certain he losses the WBA super champion status also - leaving him beltless.

No the ring belt does NOT mean undisputed. The ring is helt in higher regard than the alphabet titles by most. But it's not without flaws. Especially in the case of Calzaghe, where it was awarded prematurely without Calzaghe fighting the no 2 ranked and whgere Calzaghe seems contend to rest on his laurels with the Ring pretty much powerless to force anything.
Undisputed means having no credible rival. That is clearly not the case here.
If in fact Calzaghe believes he has no credible rival, he should have no problem taking on Kessler, finishing him off and walk away with his belts without breaking sweat. Even if it's not a big earner i could at least be as good (also financially) as most of the other opponents we've seen (and continues to see) Joe fight.

    Just wanna add.
How can you even remotely consider calling Calzaghe undisputed when numerous polls across the various forums suggest a 50-50 split, regarding who ppl would favour to win. When an increasing number of boxing observers and writers either have them dead even or in many cases are starting to have Kessler ahead of Calzaghe?
I may be biased - but that's just ridiculous.

After making his last offer for a fight in Denmark, Palle directly and repeatedly ASKED Warren to make them an offer for a UK fight. He did so both directly (Palle's claim), on his own web-site and through the press (the later two are verifiable).
Warren refused to make ANY such offer - Not even a poor one (probably knew Palle would go public with any offer considered ridiculously small - and let the public decide whether they found it fair - so better to just not make any).

All this talk that Kessler won't fight away from home is being fabricated by the Calzaghe camp/fans. What Palle has NOT done is make an offer for a UK fight - but that's hardly surpricing since promoting fights in the UK is not his business - but Warren's.
Palle's standpoint is, if Warren wants a UK fight, Warren's gotta make an offer - and since there's been no offer, he concludes that Warren doesn't wan't the fight under any circumstance.

I'm not saying Palle is an easy man to deal with. He's not gonna bend over backwards to accomodate Warren's every wish. Being WBA/WBC unified champ it's not like Kessler isn't bringing anything to the table. Kessler knows taking on Calzaghe (especially in the UK) is a big risk. He's obviously not gonna do it for nothing. With this latest HBO appearence he's also BEGINNING to make a name for himself in the US. In fact by now i doubt all that many americans cares a whole lot more about Calzaghe than they do about Kessler.

So what i'd like to know, is how much exactly would Warren be prepared to offer Kessler for a UK fight (and under what terms). So far the answer appears to be a big round zero - probably with the added bonus that Warren would want options for the next hundred Kessler fights, should Mikkel win.

With HBO working for the fight, the odds of it ever being made has gone up a bit. - from about 2% likelyhood to about 4% likelyhood in my opinion.
In other words - IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN.
Most fans don't seem to understand the "fight" that takes place before THE fight. And the EGOS involved.

Well there is no doubt that Kessler is trying to meet Calzaghe. I had the change to chat with Kessler after the Andrade fight. I asked why they kept chasing Calzaghe when the managers cant agree about a fight. Kessler said he didn´t mind going to Wales to fight as long the money where right. How much that is I don't know, but he is determent to get it on with Calzaghe, even in Cardiff.

He also hoped that HBO would put the pressure on Calzaghe in order to make the fight, I don't know if HBO have the power to do just that .

But anyway they do plan that Kessler next time should fight in US against a top ranked American fighter. They dream of B Hop. that would be funny if they stole Calzaghe opponent

I believe he instead should pay Mundine a visit downunder. Pretty sure there would be a great deal of money in that and I like to see that fight. Mundine have evolved since the last visit. But again there are plenty of 0 to go in the SMW just now, maybe Kessler should take all the 0´s on one by one
