Manny Pacquiao (43-3-2, 34KO) has taken the boxing world by storm in the last four years or so. Since his devastating destruction of the legendary Marco Antonio Barrera in the Alamodome in 2003, Pacman has raised to the top of many pound for pound lists. His trail of victims is a virtual who’s who of the featherweight and super featherweight divisions.

Since that fateful night in 2003 when he administered a devastating TKO to Barrera, he has fought Juan Manuel Marquez, the current WBC 130 lbs. champ, to a draw after dropping him three times in the first round, TKO top contender Hector Velazquez, TKO Erik Morales twice, and won a unanimous decision against former super bantamweight titlist Oscar Larios in front of his home crowd in the Philippines last year. Coming off his three round TKO of his trilogy rival Morales, Pacquiao, 28, is ready to be the main event of Top Rank’s PPV “Blaze of Glory” on April 14th from the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX. His challenger for the WBC international super featherweight title is undefeated Jorge Solis (32-0-2, 23KO), brother of light flyweight IBF champ Ulisis Solis, of Mexico City.

If that wasn’t enough, the Filipino tornado is also running for congress in his native Philippines with elections fast approaching on May 14th.

Ironically after many of his bitter rivals being Mexican nationals, Pacquiao joined Fightnews for a one on one after enjoying a dinner of Mexican food at La Piñata Restaurant in the old town section of San Diego, CA at a press conference to announce “Blaze of Glory”. Called by Top Rank’s Bob Arum “the greatest fighter in the world”, Pacquiao spoke about his political aspirations, his next opponent, and his quest to challenge Jorge Arce for ring entrances.

You know, it's messed up how Freddie completely abandoned Pacquiao for this whole camp and would only be in his corner for this fight but not train him nor develop a strategy or whatever, and also did the same thing to Peter Manfredo Jr. Two of his young protege's and for Oscar. What was so wrong that Freddie couldn't just say "Let me finish camp with Pacquiao and Manfredo and I'll train you afterwards, until then, get in shape"

Whats so wrong with that

yea.. thats kinda like a diss for pac and manfredo but money makes fists flying so u cant blame roach.. although it sucks for the other fighters..

I do, cause I thought Roach cared about the success of his fighters and Manny looks up to him like a father and it aint right for Roach to leave Manny over something like "money" they all got a future and Oscar's is about over... whats so hard about telling Oscar to "wait" And I'm no fan of Peter Manfredo but it's messed up how Roach up and abandoned him before what would have been(and probably will be) the biggest fight of his life and young career.

Roach is leaving Pacquaio because the PACMAN is hard headed. Mixing politics with boxing will never gonna do good to his career.The PAcman should stay where he belongs: In the boxing ring not in the arena of politics(specifically, lawmaking). He can hardly read and write and he even does not know what to do if he wins the seat in Congress.

you maybe right... but you can never say that if a person is no read no write they cant be in politics.... remember Abraham Lincoln.. he never went to school either.. and look at his achievements...

PAcquaio is not Abraham Lincoln.Let me not expound further as many will attest to their many differences. I did not say that Pacquaio will not fit in politics. He can run for mayor or any other local position but definitely not as a law maker.

IMO, Manny and Freddie talked about it in length and had an agreement. If Manny felt bad, he would have dissed Roach by now.
