Thread: Contender: Clarke out!

The Contender's USA team received another blow when formerly world rated Michael Clarke (36-4) was replaced by journeyman Jonathan Nelson (16-15). Season Two titlist Grady Brewer and Miguel Espino previously dropped off the USA squad. All the fighters made weight for their bouts tonight at the MetroRadio Arena, Newcastle. All bouts are eight-rounders and this marks the first time in a UK ring that eight-round fights will be scored by three judges, as opposed to having the referee alone score the bout. The card will be taped for later broadcast in the USA and UK. A crowd of 10,000 is expected.
