Default My Picks for up coming fights!

I like Cotto, but I pick Judah over him by KO. Williams wil get a very late TKO win over Marg. I pick the Ruslan over the Nicolai. Calzaghe by Tko over Manfredo, PBF MD over the Golden Boy. Pavlik by early-mid stoppage over Miranda. Pac wins by Ko over Solis in two. And I pick A B to win the rematch over Marquez .What are you guys pick?

    Cotto UD Judah
Judah will have some good rounds, but he'll get caught with a punch he didn't see and go into a shell. Judah doesn't have a very good defense, and he isn't really hard to hit. He gets hit a lot moving in or moving out, he drops his hands after he punches and he holds his right hand to low especially moving straight in. Cotto will get hit, and he might even get hurt while walking Cotto down but I think it's almost a certainty he catches Judah and Judah just can't take a punch. Cotto KO is the popular pick but I think Judah puts on his track shoes.

    Williams to Decision Margarito
As much talking as I've done, I would be stupid to pick Margarito. But it's a lot more of a pick em now I think. Why in the hell does Paul hold his hands so low? I still think he will be able to slip most of the long punches of Margarito. The thing that worries me is those little rangy uppercuts, I can see him getting caught by a lot of those. I also think though that Williams will be the more active fighter and I want to see how Tony handles a constant jab in his face. Unless Williams is scared, which I doubt he is, then I like him to win the fight. He's not accurate nor powerful enough to KO Margarito though.

    Nicolay Valuev over Ruslan Chagaev
I think I've seen Chagaev against Sinal Sam. And even so, I don't remember the fight well. Valuev just because.

Joe Calzaghe UD Peter Manfredo Jr.
Honestly, do I have to explain this one?

Floyd Mayweather UD Oscar De La Hoya
This one is probably getting closer in my head the more the fight draws near. But the common sense in me says that I'm going to be here May 6 thinking why the hell did I pick Oscar to make it close. Oscar is dependant on the left hook. A left handed orthodox fighter, his career has really took on a major transformation in terms of what his best punches are. Early in his career his best weapon was the right hand. Now he mostly works with left hook. He almost always leads with it now, and he throws it flatfooted. Floyd avoids the lead punch better then anybody and he'll be in and out on Oscar all night imo. Oscar better hope he can time Oscar coming in or out or he is in trouble. Mayweather wins by 5 or 6 points.

    Kelly Pavlik KO Edison Miranda
He has the tools to beat Miranda, and it could very well happen. But to do it he needs to stand his ground, sneak that left hook in on Miranda, follow up and then circle around. Or do something to that extent. A lot of people say that you beat Miranda by keeping him outside, well I don't totally agree. He has a very tight defense on the outside, it's basically a shell it's when he is moving in and looking to make something happen where his defense opens up and that's where Pavlik is going to have to do his work. And his arsenal of punches seem to be made for a guy like Miranda but there is always that X factor of a huge Colombian power house coming at you and whether or not you can keep your poise. If he can, it very well could be a frustrating night for Miranda. I'll probably flipflop on this one a few time. A Pick em fight.

    Pac KO Solis
From what I've read Solis is an inactive counter puncher. I don't care what Roach says. This isn't a hard one to pick.

I am going with Cotto over Judah.
Cotto stops Judah in the 7th.
Judah has been inactive and on a losing streak.
Judahs tune up is not even a tune up.
He should have taken a tougher fighter than Ruben Galvan to prepare him for Cotto.
Judah might not be in there long enough to break a sweat with his fight with Galvan.

Margarito works Williams on the inside and works the body.
Lands some decent upper cuts and puts to rest the lies Williams
made about the sparring session. Margarito stops the the taller man
    in the 9th.

    Nicolay Valuev/Ruslan Chagaev?
I don't do heavys but If I had to choose, I would
    pick sasquatch.

Joe Calzaghe knocks out Peter Manfredo Jr.
Calzaghe is itching for a knock out and Manfredo is the perfect candidate.
Calzaghe drops Peter in the 5th and Peter might not get up. It wont go past 6.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. out boxes Oscar De La Hoya.
Floyd will be too fast and Oscar will not be able to take advantage of his leverage
as the so called bigger man. I see Floyd getting caught with a couple of hard lefts
but survives and continues to out point Oscar. Look for Oscar to try to be agressive
but the frustration will get the best of him. You can't hurt what you can't catch.
Floyd will take Oscar out of what ever game plan he and his corner might have. Floyd UD 12.

    Edison Miranda vs Kelly Pavlik
Both have power while they are both sloppy.
Both have had some pretty good fights in the past few months.
Both have gained a lot of publicity.
Anything can happen in this fight.
    Who wants it more?
They both want a shot at Taylor.
I will have to go with Miranda by knock out in the 5th.
I say Kelly is all hype but thats just me. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
May the best man win and may that man be the one who later comes and takes out Taylor.

    Pac vs Solis?

I don't even know who Solis is

Gotta go with Pac. But hope it's a war like only Pac Man knows how to give them and take them.

Very open minded post, nice to see a touch of realism, CC Danny. I agree that Margarito lands some uppercuts but I don't envision him landing on a consistent basis because of the constant activity of Williams, I believe, will disrupt the timing of the Margarito right hand.

I agree pretty much 100% on everything else. And CC Duke.

    Judah VS Cotto...

Hard pick....It depends on which Judah shows up....I am proud to admit I am a Zab Judah fan...When the Zab who isn't throwing tantrums and fighting out of frustration shows up...When he acts like a spoiled brat I have no use for him....If the Judah who is in top shape and is willing to fight his fight is in there he is a dangerous fighter...That version will box cotto into the abyss....If he is off his game Cotto will KO him......Too hard to pick...It can go 50/50....I will go with Zab anyway I think he knows this is his last hurah..

    Margarito VS Williams...

I Go with Tony on this one...IMO he will use his experience and come into this fight in top shape...If he does Williams will find out quick the difference between the ham and eggers he has been in with and world class opponents....I would not be suprised if we seen another one sided beating Via Cintron

    Valuev VS Chagaev...

I go with Valuev on this one..Unless he gets caught early...

    Calzaghe Vs Manfredo...

Joe by KO but I think Peter will give a better fight then many expect before he folds in the 6th or 7th

    Pacquiao Vs Solis...

I go with Pac by decision

    De La Hoya Vs Mayweather...

IMO Oscar is going to KO the ever cockey Mayweather...I have a feeling Floyd is going to try and prove he can hang in there toe to toe with Oscar at some point in time and that will be his down fall

    Pavlik Vs Miranda...

Miranda is going to go after him early...If he does whe will overwhelm Pavlik and KO him

im ALWAYS right when i pick calzaghe fights.i posted a pre-fight round by round prediction before lacy and i was spot on,even down to joes behind the back punch.Im worried about this saturday, not that he'll lose, but he'll win a stinking UD.ive seen it too many times with him,the words he uses before a fight show so much, his pre-fight words before starie, thornberry, ashira, bika and now manfredo are almost identical.this wont be a big performance by joe, hopefully im wrong,he needs a KO,even his biggest fans are starting to worry his power has gone.i watched a load of old tapes and maybe one in 15 punches was a slap, now its about one in five.if any of you have punched a bag with an injured hand you will know that you cannot help but slap a little, its the bodys natural defense.
