Default Calzaghe v Manfredo - Give me a Break!!

I just watched that fight.............. ...... That was like me v my 10 yr old boy Michael with me in 16Oz sparring gloves and he in the 8 Oz bag mits - total mis-match. You must be f***ing kidding. If that was Kessler or Mundine in front of him GOOD NIGHT by at least round 3.

Mis match and bad stoppage. Pretty much a BS fight if you ask me. They never gave Manfredo a chance to get goin even, I doubt he would have won, but he deserved better than that. He's a tuff, ballsy kid, and he deserved better than that, so did boxing fans.

If i could lose 4 and half stone i could give him a better fight than that infact i would probably knock him out ive never boxed i would have a W0,L0,D0 record and Warren would look at me as to much of a threat

Well I think you may want to have had a few fights before taking on someone like Calzaghe - and even my boy Michael!!! But seriously if someone can honestly tell me they think Kessler or Mundine would not have stopped Calzaghe in this fight please post and tell me how.

It was a crap stoppage and I do not like Calzaghe at all, but I cannot say Kessler or Mundine would for sure stop Calzaghe in 3 rounds. No way. I think Kessler has a real shot at whippin Joe, and maybe stoppin him late. Mundine, he ain't no big hitter, and is chinny himself, so...no. I'll tell ya though, that any top fighter worth his salt would have countered Calzaghe's ass, and put him on his ass when he was all squared up, slappin at Manfredo against the ropes b4 the BS stoppage.

Thanks - that was what my drunken mind was atemping to articulate. Don't underestimate Mundine's Right It is BIG. He is not chinny - he got hit in the temple and it was his only stoppage. Calzaghe had tits in this fight - Again GIVE ME A BREAK he would have been stopped by either Kessler or Mundine if he brought to the fight what he came in with in this fight. Kessler and Mundine are supreme athletes and please dont tell me you thought Calzaghe could compete with them with what he showed against Manfredo.

Well Mandrefo did nothing to make a fight , so if you don´t fight back the REF should stop the fight. The KO is always nice to watch, but fighters should protect themselves.

I'm not commenting on the stoppage - the ref did the right thing IMO.

Manfredo was protecting himself he was taking most of them on his gloves and then when he started ducking under the punches and was'nt getting hit the ref stopped it.He had'nt been down or anything Joes barrage of punches were only pitter patter look how much punishment Graham Earl was taking his corner threw in the towel ref threw it back out at a lot of points in that fight Earl was taking massive punches on the ropes but it was a world title fight same as the Calzaghe fight so Manfredo deserved more time i thought he was just starting to do more and perhaps by round 4 or 5 could have had a bit of a rythem im not saying he was ever going to win but deserved longer the booing him in and out of the ring and booing his national anthem was a discrace

Those are the best fans in the world.
The booing and the chants were awesome.
Peter Manfredo Jr made a spectacle by moving his hips like a cheap table dancer during our so called beloved national anthem. How embarassing was that? And to make matters even worse, he was wearing an American flag shredded mini skirt. So much for showing respect for Old Glory, eh?

Lets just put this into perspective...

Manfredo was a reality TV LOSER who shat his pants on the big stage, this fight should't have been made IMO

Joe to me looked like he carried Manfredo for the first 2 rounds prob to try and make a show of it for the fans as it looked to me like he could have took him out at will from the first bell.

there is only one big challange at super middle for Joe at this point in time and and that is Kessler that fight needs made... but is looking very unlikly that it is going to be any time soon which is a big shame as Joe aint getting any younger.

but i dont pay too much attantion to the Kessler will kill Joe brigade as there was a similar bunch not so long ago claiming that Lacy would.... and most likly this time next year if they ever make the fight we'll have people claiming Kessler was a overhyped clown and Joe should stop ducking whoever is the latest bandwagon fighter

but saying all that Joe Vs Kessler needs to happen they are the 2 best fighters at supermiddle and the only reason it isnt is because one of the promoters musnt want it to

but please Joe NO MORE MIS-MATCHS... your far too good for the WWF crap
