Default Wacko's Drunken Round by Round "the Blaze of Glory" card! Pacquiao vs Solis!!!

Well my fellow forum goers & boxing fanatics…once again it‘s on…well…maybe it’s on.

Let’s just hope it’s on. I’ve been searching up & down the 900 channels of Wacko’s cable provider & still haven’t spotted it yet…but if it pops up…I’m all over it…if not…then the poll is up & we can have ourselves a little discussion either way.

This Saturday night April the 14th, 2007...Manny Pacquiao…one of boxing‘s most crowd pleasing and explosive fighters is back in the ring once again to crank up the flames and either blow up or go out in a “Blaze of Glory"!

It seems that no matter what question is asked of Manny (48 fights, 43 wins with 34 ko's, 3 losses, & 2 draws) he’s always got a spirited answer.

He’s back in San Antonio, Texas at “the Alamodome” stadium in hopes of repeating history in grand fashion (ala the 2003 knockout victory over future Hall of Famer Marco Antonio Barrera.) as he faces undefeated and highly regarded contender Jorge Solis (35 fights, 30 wins with 23 ko’s, 2 draws, 1 No Contest, & 0 losses) in the fourth defense of his WBC International Super Featherweight title.

Manny’s been jumping up & down in the ranks of the top five pound for pound fighters of the world for the last three or four years. Let‘s dish out that cash (Lord willing) to see if the "Fighter of the Year" from The Philippines can do it one more time and hopefully set up a rematch against Juan Manuel Marquez in the future.

I’m not really sure what to make of Jorge Solis…I think (but ain’t sure) that I’ve seen him fight before…but me not remembering him…well that’s a sign of a possible two things…he didn’t impress the ole’ Wackster…or I was to sauced to recall.

Now, that being said, also featured in the PPV broadcast is a sure to be tussle and tumble between WBC Super Flyweight champion Cristian Mijares and another crowd pleaser…Jorge Arce.

Should be a hell of a night…anywho…Wacko’s worn out & it’s 3:00 a.m. and I gotta get some rest…I’ll either beef this up or delete it in once I know that the fight is officially on my cable provider…odd that no one’s really talking about it.

Well…no matter what…Wacko’s gonna tune in…with the same original drunken coverage…day or night…rain, snow, sleet, or shine if it’s game time and on the tube...I’ll be pullin rank as the One and Only Drunken Round by Round king.

Now, for what it’s worth…all I ask of ya’s…whether your'e drinkin or not…let’s break out the chips and salsa and see what the big guy can make happen.

    Cheers…and koneecheewah bitches.

    CC#2781 WckOff.....

I voted: Who you trying to fool Wacko...you know it's Option #1!

    Rightfully so.

I mean I've seen 3 fights of Solis and theres NOTHING there thats a threat to Pac. I think Pacs biggest threat is himself if hes not FULLY in the fight.

TBH, I'm more interested in the undecard fights.....

Can Arce beat a slick and agile boxer like Mijares?
    and
Is the 'Hawaiin Punch' back or have we lost him once and for all?

Wadda' ya think on the undecards Wacks....

Did you check in the PPV channels?
Also try going through the options.

    I'll second those clicks.

I voted option #6 as well, although Pac does seem to have his mind elsewhere these days. I just hope he doesn't lose focus so much that it affects his in-ring performance in a negative way.

It probably is tough to stay focused with all the hooplah following him, but hey - that's the name of the game.

I'd really love to see the Arce fight, too.

There's a big chance the Pacman will lose concentration in this fight.

No sweat Wacko & fellars...I found it...had to call that shit in to order it...it either wasn't up on the schedule or just wasn't showing on my screen for some reason with my cable provider.

I agree. He needs to focus on his ring career instead of running for mayor, guvenuh, or what the fwock ever he's trying to pull now.

Politics is the worst man. You pretty much go into it with great or the best intentions & there's always something around the corner that puts all that into a total 360 degree tail spin.

Agreed...but I aint so sure that Solis is the foil...even though I don't know too much about him.

Jorge Solis has very little chances of pulling an upset. He's lucky he's touted as a 7-1 underdog.. The fight I'm looking forward to is the Arce vs. Mijares fight and Viloria vs. Sosa fight. But I'll be a hypocrite if i don't admit that Manny is the main attraction here. It's just unfortunate that he's against a lower class opponent. Don't get me wrong though, I think Solis is capable of an upset. Yes an upset. Thats the word. Upset means its not quite seen as a competitive fight. Pacquiao via 7th round KO. I love the way 'El Travieso' fights but i hate his entrance. I think Mijares would surprise him. And I think viloria would be a champ once again.

I've been thinking the same thing, I can't remember if I've seen the guy or not.

Anyway, I don't know if I'm getting this one. If I do it would be pretty much only cause of Arce-Mijares. I've heard good things about Mijares but never seen him, sounds like it will be Arce's toughest fight since Hussein. And CC for the round by round Wacko.

Thank you Wacko for your unexpressed invitation...

This is pacfan the not so official spokesman for the pacman himself...
May I request all the quests here to please hold the applause until I've finished speaking, thank you...

Actually I've got nothing much to say except that a well-prepared pac could finish the job pretty easily, and quickly as well... But my concern is:

exactly as Mick has stated. Everyone here knows pac hardly trained while he was still here and went to the Wild Card less than a month before the fight, late and overweight at 147lbs. So it's clear that he had crammed his training - a two months worth in just about 3 weeks.
Half-hearted training with overconfidence could be a fatal combination for any boxer, be it Ali, Tyson or Mayweather...

Though I haven't seen Solis fight, I saw his workout on the tv news here and was pretty impressed with his punching - he definitely has 'capable' punches, and what that exactly means, I'll leave it up to you guys.

To put it in a single sentence, I'm pretty disappointed with my boy. I'd be more comfortable seeing him fight top class fighter well-prepared than him fighting 'lesser' fighter half-heartedly. Maybe it's because of the big unknown involved in this type of fight - an unknown fighter with an excellent record. The possibility of, however remote, a super fighter having a bad night against an unknown fighter shining in the fight of his life is... naw, that won't happen...

No doubt, my boy will probably run over the poor chap in his usually relentless manner, but still, he won't get a pat on his shoulder from this fool who call himself pacfan, at least not this time...

Now about this stupid think call politics. Sheesh, what's got boxing got to do with that?! Seeing how the politicians here treat their own people here makes me puuu... never mind, those stuff are enough to 'do you in' here so I'll keep my big mouth shut. For a little gossip, the re-electionist congresswoman whom pac is runnin against is a cute little lass, though a smart allecky type who doesn't talk much sense - sorry about that Darlene, that's her name! I must be bored...This is the first fight of pac that's making me bored even before the fight.

Ok, before I veer away too far I must say my kooonban wa to my gracious host Wacko and also to all the guests here. Cheers.

I think Pac has the will to go throught the fight and win, even with all these distractions.

Pac destroys him in a blitz He's an animal in the ring and nothing at all suggests that Solis can keep him off for more than 3 rounds

Thanks, Mick. CC right back... Yup, there's no doubt that's the most reasonable assessment of this fight. Maybe we pac-fans are too hard on him - as they say, as long as he gets the job done, let him be...but will he? there I go again!
