Thread: "No-Win" for PBF........ "No-Lose" for DLH

This fight's shaping up exactly the way everyone knew it would. With Floyd being portrayed as the "villain", and Oscar as the "hero." It's so-o-o-o-o-o damn easy and predictable. Floyd needs little help in portraying himself as the bad guy. He's pretty widely disliked already, and seems resigned to his fate.

He will have beaten the consensus p4p in the world, at the peak of his powers. Never mind that the guy is almost 20 pounds north of his best weight, and at 154 couldn't punch his way out of a paper bag.

I pretty much agree with the assesment (though I don't understand the reason for it) The last paragraph/sentence is highly unlikely though I'm rooting for PBF.

I was referring to his actions as a business man, I admit I do respect the man as a fighter - he's been willing to fight the best his whole career. However, he's become semi-notoriously cheap as a promoter, despite having pocked hundreds of millions of dollars. He insinuated that Golden Boy promotions was going to be different kind of company, more boxer friendly, make the great match-ups fans, etc... Warring with other promoters which I guess doesn't make him phony, but it pisses me off because it prevents good fights from being made. I have no problems with most of his actions as a business man per se, just how it relates to the way he portrays himself in the media.

And he needs to make that fighter summit happen. Hopefully soon, though I understand why that's been put on hold.

Anyways, everything you said is pretty much moot. Except that Floyd gains a ton. Publicity and nothing is more valuable to a boxer then publicity.

This is, with our a doubt, Oscar's most brilliant move yet. He chose the wight, ho chose the ring size, he chose the gloves. He has every advantage possible and if he wins, no one will complain because he WAS fighting the P4P champ.

If Floyd does win under these circumstances, he certainly deserves his props. I hope most people notice what a tough challenge this will be for him. I think DLH has one great fight left in him and I think this is it. But if PBF wins then I will give him enormous respect.
