6 years ago he was naturally 20 pound lighter I think that is huge when youre taking about an athelete especially a boxer..but speed is as natural as power. Floyd will still be fast but not as he was a lightweight, but still faster than ODLH. Usually before a weigh in a boxer will get the excess water weight out of his system. I dont think Floyd had to worry about this so he probably weighed in after a fairly normal intake of food and water. I think this Floyd is in the same body as he was vs. Baldomir and Zab. Dont let a weigh in fool you.

That is true, but he has long arms. I do think though that Oscar will look nearly as fast as him. He just needs to use the jab the whole fight. I dony think his left hook will win him the fight like many people think. It will be the jab and straight right that can get him the W

Floyd's arms won't matter. Floyd won't be as light as he used to be with on his feet with the added weight but he's still gonna be lightning quick where it matters, in handspeed, head movement, and upper body movement.

Well of course it will be a factor, and Oscar's had much more even fights (win or lose) against folks with good speed and accuracy. Floyd is the fastest and most accurate fighter that Oscar will have faced.

It's probably true that Floyd at 151 is not as fast as he was at 140, but that is not to say that the weight gain evens out the speed factor between Oscar and Floyd. I have little doubt that Floyd will be as fast or faster than any Oscar has ever seen. If he can combine that speed with both accuracy (he will) and power (he might) then he will be extremely impressive. It's hard to see Oscar winning against him.

Though I stand by my call of Oscar TKO mid-late. Sometimes I think that is a crazy call, but I guess I will leave it to Floyd to prove me wrong.

Leaving Oscar-Bernard aside, this fight is the greatest challenge either fighter has faced, if Oscar is at all the Oscar of old.

we might have been had by the Delahoya people in a way. Everyone is picking Oscar and Oscar has looked bad in his last few fights. Strum, Hopkins and Mayorga.. Mayorga he beat with a good style, but Strum and Hopkins could have both been loses. Floyd is the more proven product recently and somehow people think that if Oscar is in shape he can win.. I remember how back when Ray Leonard fought Tommy Hearns in 1989 everyone thought Tommy was in bad shape then and Ray would wipe him out, and Tommy pretty much beat Ray except for what the cards said a draw. I still wonder how Dalby Shirley gave Ray a 10 point 12th round to Tommy's 8 when Ray didn't even score a knockdown. Had Shirley called it 10-9 as it should have been, Tommy wins the fight. I went away from the topic again. As most of you can tell the 80s was my era to watch... I am still affected by those fights.

No, everyone's not picking Oscar ... on the contrary, a Floyd win is the more natural expectation.

There are some who do think Oscar can and will win, and they are in the position of having to defend and explain themselves more fully, so there may be more verbage regarding that possibility.

I agree that Oscar's win against Sturm was suspect ... Oscar was pudgy and seemed unprepared. Reminds one of Mayweather-Castillo ONE where I thought Floyd lost (though he won convincingly in rematch; Oscar may have done same against Felix).

I don't credit Oscar's loss to Hopkins as defining Oscar at all. It was not a natural fight for him to take. He was pushing the envelope big-time in terms of size and power. He fought well until the KO. I know some think he took a dive but I don't respect that opinion in the least.

So - instead of just piling numbers up, each fight needs to be looked at on a case-by-case and weighted in terms of what it can tell us about Oscar. He proved he was looking past Sturm, and like Lennox came in lumbering and doughy against Rachman in S. Africa, he had a bad fight. What do fights like these tell us? That the fighter made a mistake in judgment and preparation. They don't necessarily reveal the true capabilities of the fighter, but rather mask them.

Tonight will tell the tale. If Oscar can win, it will be because he has more natural power at this weight, and can take Floyd's shots and still lay his own shots on Floyd. He needs to get Floyd into trouble, stun him and follow up with accurate power - not wild flurries. Oscar needs to use his energy/power economically but aggressively.

There are certainly ways to see Oscar winning this fight, but it isn't an obvious win by any means. He really has to earn. I'm hoping he can and will.

Equally exciting would be an Oscar who does just that, but Floyd still out-boxes him with aggressive speed and power, and earns a victory by more than poke and float.

We gonna find out tonight. I'm expecting Saddo's to be absolutely unavailable for the RBR. Bummer!

he weighed in at 150; probably about what he walked into the ring at for Baldomir. I think he will be fine. Oscar will tire first, as usual when he faces a fast slick boxer a la Sugar Shane, cept DLH will do it faster now cuz hes a lil older. anyway thats what i think....

    Conventional logic, and sensible.

Hopefully a smaller ring will balance that out a bit, and hopefully Oscar will snare him and pummel him to the canvas before he tires too much.
