If Manny Paqciaou had Tommy Morrison in front of him as hurt and unconcious as he was against Ray Mercer, Manny would probably finish him off. The point is that would NEVER happen, because a fighter so small could never put a good fighter so big in that position, so it's a completely moot point.

Did you not fucking read the people I had in that quote FOREMAN.....TYSON......oh but they were all too small to hurt anyone.

I suppose all the little guys should just hang up their gloves and let Nicolay Valuev win everything.....could Sam Peter KO him

He hit's harder then Dempsey and Marciano but not Foreman or Shavers....The again though Peter has a harder one punch power over Marciano and Dempsey...

Jack and Rocky could land every shot with the same authority...

.....everyone seems to forget Earnie Shavers was only 6'0 tall and 210 pounds.....but I guess that doesn't matter much seeing how SIZE doesn't affect anyone but Rocky and Dempsey

Well I want to bump this up for Skyler and Samson to explain to me how a relatively tiny heavyweight in the form of Earnie Shavers is considered one of the hardest punchers in ANY era of the sport and yet guys like Rocky Marciano, Jack Dempsey, and the much larger JOE LOUIS are not considered (by those forum members) as very hard power punchers.

Please explain to me how that is.....explain to me how Earnie Shavers, the 6'0 210 pound heavyweight was able to startch out the much bigger Ken Norton and floor the much bigger Larry Holmes....both boxing greats.

Also I would like to know how Jess Willard is a no talent bum when he's destroyed by Jack Dempsey but yet he was able to KO Jack Johnson one of the greatest heavyweights ever

after watching them fights i was in awe of peters power. even when he misses, skims his opponents you can HEAR his power. his is very sharp aswell which makes him even more dangerous.
his shots seem very very very AND VERY HEAVY!

i know for example foreman and liston were murderous punchers but louis, dempsey and marciano who weighed under 200 pound at their best, im not sure if their punch was harder than a samuel peters? what do u think?

The guy is overall, covering all aspects of boxing.. OVERRATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The difference being that Wladimir Klitschko has a chin made of glass while Marciano, Dempsey and Louis did not.
What has Wladimir Klitschko ever done to get mentioned in the same breath as Joe Louis.
Maybe you should try watching some of these fighters actually fight.
Klitschko is an average Heavyweight- decent technique and size but nothing more.

He may have more power than Dempsey and Louis, but the rest of the guys on that list hit like trucks and I highly doubt Peter could hang with those Monsters. Marciano wasnt the best boxer but he had 2 mean ass hooks. Foreman is strong as an Ox. Liston knocked everyone silly except Ali, he brutalized Patterson twice.

I really don't buy Marciano as the hardest hitter of all time. Maybe P4P one of the hardest hitters of all time, but I think punchers like Shavers and Foreman, who had a lot of "good" weight on him, just hit above and beyond him. Don Cockell stated after the Marciano fight that Marciano wasn't the hardest hitter he fought. I really think it comes down to bias towards the old guys, and boxing fans trying to be "old school". I love Rocky and Louis as much as the next guy, and while I feel that they used their bodies more effectively in the punch, I'll never buy that they hit as hard as guys like Shavers, Foreman, or even Tyson and Peters.

Peter is a Heavyhanded and big guy but his shots are crude swipes.
Dempsey was a very over-rated puncher and a small man.apart from the damage he did to Willard (with allegedly loaded gloves) what were his best ko`s

? i think it was Sharkey who said he was "a respectable but not devestating hitter".
anyway back to Peter,i think its crazy to even mention him in the same breath as the truly great punchers.if he is that good how did Klitchko finish their fight,never mind clearly beat him

apart from Jeremy Williams what impressive KO`s has he scored??
he couldnt even KO Maskaev for chrissake

I think he does hit harder than the smaller HWs of yesteryears like Marciano, Dempsey, Louis, ect. Because lets face it, these guys were just cruiserweights and in some cases Light heavyweights.

I dont think he hits harder than Liston or Foreman though.
