Well if he has no problems with his hands he should win most of the fights at lightheavy only ones i see giving him trouble are Woods Hopkins and Johnson.

I think Tarver and Dawson give him trouble too.

He might do well. He already backed out of a fight with Johnson, and he shouldn't go near BHOP yet, but against the rest, he'd probably do well.

Would he actually fight good guys at light heavy or just B graders like at supermiddle?

Hopkins is extremely crafty, I think the Hopkins throws one punch at a time and keeps Calzaghe on the outside to win. It would be a boring fight.

Tarver is always a problem because he has 1 punch power. But Tarver doesn't handle pressure well. Calzaghe beats him imo.

Johnson is trouble for anyone, Calzaghe would probably stay at a distance for the most part and work his way to a decision.

Clinton Woods works much the same way as Johnson imo except the fight isn't as close. I just don't think Woods is that good.

The others I don't know enough about.

I think he would do well. He has alot of experience and I would pick him to beat most of those guys. Tarver would be tough maybe. But Calzaghe has the intangible which Hagler had. Heart.

....he'd have to box more, I doubt his power vs the bigger guys.

He's a quick puncher which is good and his speed is his power.

I doubt more lightheavies than Supermiddles would come to Wales and fight Joe.....his big issue is to not weight but WHERE HE FIGHTS

imo calzaghe beats every guy at light heavy and he should move up if the fights with kessler and taylor dont come off.

Possibly Hopkins is the only who could trouble Joe

I don't know if I've ever seen a man in a weight class that high slapped so it's a tough decision... I say he does good against Valuev in his comeback fight.... He slaps him until the big man backs up and wins on slaps........ I mean....... points

Even though about 4 or 5 years ago, Calzaghe was saying he was struggling to make supermiddleweight, and that he wanted to move up to light heavyweight, but he seems to have overcome that. Personally, he's got unfinished business at SMW, with Taylor and Kessler to beat before he goes.

At the bigger weight, it will be the first time really that he won't be the taller man against most opponents, and the harder hitters could give him more trouble. I think he beats Hopkins and Woods pretty well, zipping in and out and not getting caught. I reckon Tarver gets to made look even more of a fool than he did by Hopkins, and he should be able to get in and out often enough to beat Johnson. The ones that I would be concerned about would be Dawson, and I haven't seen enough of Erdei and Drews to pass judgement. But then again he'll pack on more muscle at light heavy, so could put his glass knuckles under more pressure, and they'd buckle even more often.

Are you trying to tell me that Sakio Bika is not an A class fighter?
