    Default Roy Jones Jr's Inactivity

Roy Jones has been inactive for a long time now..

We have heard of his dealings for fights a few times..But not even heard of dealings for a faair while..

If roy wants to end his career on a high note then he needs to stay active before looking for that one last hurrah.. Because if he makes a big fight after this much inactivity then i cant see him doing himself justice

Anyone know any more details on what Roy is doing with himself and whether he has been interviewed any time recently.?

    Peace

in my opinion he should go looking for clinton woods. The reason being hes a champ and hes the one hes already beat and he is capable of doing it again. I think Clinton would want the fight because he would be confident of beating him and i do believe it would be a good one. i just hope he can get a fight soon and not against some bum, because there would just be no point!

Jones Jr is all but retired IMO...he had a nice win over Prince Badi and that would have been a nice way to actually announce his retirement. Roy is a proud man and actually admitting he is retired is something I think he is finding hard to swallow. He wont be in a major fight any time soon methinks...

Well, he was trying to fight Manny Siaca but somehow that fight fell through.

And then he said he would fight Joe Calzaghe in Joe's backyard for less purse then Joe would get(70-30 I think) And I dont think Joe took it..

    Anyone else know?

Jones Jr likes to talk but then again a lot of his latter day talks seem to fall through...he is all but retired...

Roy's career is over. Not much you can do when no one stands anything to gain by beating you.

Its such a shame about Roy..

Before all his bad luck.. He was so good that the was no competition for him..

And now he's past his prime and he still cant manage to find good fights

    Thats just tough luck

Why on earth is it a shame?

He's made his money and is pricing himself out of fights that he knows he has no place being in anyway. He has always had competition. Look down his resume and you will see he beat plenty but also left out so many more!

Jones was good, but he makes me chuckle somewhat sometimes

Its a shame for him and a shame for the fans..

We miss out on seeing him in big fights again.. He still has skill.. But im still uncertain whether he can ever recapture what he had..

So like who did he leave out?

What Nigel Benn? Rematch with Bernard? Benn lost the eliminator to fight roy against Sugar boy malinga, Roy had every right to ask 60 / 40 at the time..

Yeaa roy doesnt have the credentials and the momentum to price himself out and call the shots quite like he used to.. But at the end of the day ..If people want to fight him badly enough he still has the right to ask for what he likes.. Its his problem alone if the fights dont come together

Of course i know Roy beat many good fighters..A hell of alot more then people want to give him credit for.. Mainly because most dont know enough on boxing to know how good come of his competition was..

Call me crazy but I think Roy Jone's Jr final fight will be against Peter Manfredo Jr, maybe at the end of the year.

He will lose a wide UD and say he obviously doesn't have it any more and will retire for good.

Manfredo will go on to face a resurgant Jeff Lacy and get stopped in the middle rounds.

Roy hasnt beaten a meaningful opponent in a LONG time

    And you know it.

He doesnt have the right to ask anyone for what he likes. He is a guy approaching 40 and without a meaningful win in years. He cannot get what he wants and stays on the sidelines. It will continue....

I will consider RJJ retired until I see a fight booked.

Whats with the attitude? This is a debate and you talking to me with this..' And you know it' thing..

    No i dont know it

How has roy not beat a meaningful opponent in a LONG time.. Last i checked Ruiz and Tarver are plenty meaningful..

3 years is not an incredibly long time.. Its not a short amount of time either

And who is he calling the shots against..I said he dont have the same stuff to back his arguement as such.. But of course he has the ' right ' to..
Hes a man.. his own boss, his own fighter and if he wana do that then its his right.. I aint saying it'll get him where he wana go but nobody gona bust into his house whip him and stick a gun to his head and say NO roy Bernard gets 60/40

And whats more roy and bernard were supposed to get it on again last year for 50/50 But bernard pulled out and started talking 60/40 again.. And if thats not roy swallowing his enourmous pride for a fight then nothing is
