The last time I saw Judah move forward was the Spinks fight and the few other early KO fights he's had with lesser-known fighters. Judah is no Hopkins, Spinks or Wright so whatever counterpunching he expects to pull out will not be as effective as those aforementioned fighters. I like how everybody feels that Corley, Malignaggi and even Torres weren't quick boxers. They may not be Mayweather / Judah fast, but face it, Cotto has faced faster fighters than at least himself. Judah can focus on Cotto's chin all night, but he better not forget to protect his own AND his ribs. Cotto by TKO in the 8th after a few 7th round KDs. Oh, and I do expect Cotto to go down at least once, but come back to win.

    Judah decision

    against popular wisdom, I know

And I am sympathetic with the notion that Zab's going to look good for 5-6 rounds and then give away the farm. That's a very probable possibility. Or, possibily, a probability. At the very least a preeminently plausible prediction.

Perhaps more persuasive a pick than mine.

    Notwithstanding, Judah UD 12

And he got tagged and punched constantly in all of those fights too and they were less punchers and boxers then Judah and was also at 140

Corley is not that less of a puncher than Judah. Why do you think he was considered the gatekeeper for the weight class he's in after facing Mayweather and Judah? (Hint: he gave them competition.) At most, I can see Judah getting a well-placed jaw shot similar to Torres', but I don't see it being nothing more than a flash knockdown. For Judah to turn that knockdown into a knockout, he would have to be the aggressor. He already tried that before with a come-forward fighter (Baldomir) and paid the price. How is this fight going to be any different with another come-forward fighter? The most he can hope for is the pot-shot method that Mayweather is famous for en route to a decision.

Conversely, Judah has been hurt and hurt bad by people a lot softer hitting then Judah. And he's been tagged by fighters a lot slower then Cotto.

I agree with Wacko on this but I'm even more optimistic for Zab.

If he comes in prepared, and remains focused for 12 rounds he makes a fool out of Cotto.

Bold prediction, but on the back of being bang on the money regarding Pavlik Miranda I feel in a bold mood.

Zab dominates Cotto to the extent that some people will call it Calzaghe Lacy 2

When has Zab ever stayed focused for 12 rounds

Unfortunately for all of you who are picking Zab to win, I too am also predicting he will win!! :P

This is a great match up IMO. Zab is in the last chance saloon, and Cotto is facing his sternest test yet. Should be a belter, but I just think Zab has too much skill and speed for Cotto and will make him look sloppy at times...

Cottos best bet is if he can wobble Zab and keep Zad on the peddle, this is easier said than done though. Okay, Baldomir did it but I doubt that Zab will perform so meekly against Cotto. He has no option of doing so.

    Should be a corker!!

I really have a tough time with this fight. I think Judah's got the goods to take it to Cotto, but, as everyone else notices, he tends to have issues with focus. I'd have to go with Cotto, probably by UD.

I wouldn't be flabbergasted if Judah pulled it out, though - he's got the skill, but this one is more about the will.
