Default Roy Jones, Jr. vs. Mikkel Kessler in November?

For two super middleweight fighters who may wind up in opposite corners this November, WBA-WBC champion Mikkel Kessler and boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. are quite agreeable

I hope to god this fight doesn't happen, that would be a nail in the coffin of Roy Jones and I'd fear for his health.

Ugh... Kessler's going to hurt RJJ badly... what weight would this be at? I thought RJJ couldn't get below LHW.

Im worried that Jones is trying to hard to get that last big win to secure his legacy, when he really doesnt have to. Its depressing to see this once great warrior being beaten by guys that he could have destroyed in his prime...

I think the Roy COULD get down to 168 but it could well involve amputation

without that he'd probably make Flyweight.

roy is fighting hanshaw on july 14 at 168 so he'll make weight....and imo opinion kessler is overrated and this would be a good test for both of them the winner should fight JC...because i think JC would embarrass kessler...still not totally sold on him..he reminds me of this top contender that was undefeated and the next big until he fought lennonx lewis and his name was michael grant....

    Default RJJ V Kessler?!?!

nother point of agreement between RJJ and the “Viking Warrior” is that it’s past time for the 35-year-old Welshman to pick on someone his own size.

“Why would Calzaghe want to fight a middleweight like Jermain Taylor? Palle said. “You don’t see either Mikkel or Roy Jones picking on smaller men. Should Jones beat the tough Hanshaw, we could have a marvelous November Jones-Kessler promotion in Copenhagen come November. That will be the time of my 50th anniversary as a promoter. It would be the best super middleweight ever against Kessler, who is the best at 168 pounds today.”

Jones is promoted by Murad Muhammad. Muhammad concurs with the fighters and Palle that Jones-Kessler would be a hot match.

Calzaghe and Warren are just frustrating!!!

I really dont see the urgenct to try and fight Taylor. He is comfortable at middleweight and is coming off a string of poor showings. Just make a fight with Kessler happen!!

If a Jones Jr: Kessler fight comes off then it will be a kick in the face that Calzaghe would have brought on himself...

He is 35 and has no urgency to make the fights that matter happen come what may...

God knows who he will fight next

RJJ would'nt be able to make weight. There's plenty of fighters at this class looking for opponent status refugeed from middleweight who missed the boat.

I agree that the weight issue will be a problem for RJJ, and if it ever does get made, I expect it to either be at a catchweight or at light heavyweight.

It is however a sign of the decline of RJJ as well, can you ever imagine one fighter telling another during RJJ's prime: "If you don't fight me then I'll just have to go and fight RJJ". I reckon that RJJ's ego could get in the way though....does he really want to be someone's rebound fighter? And also, I'm not convinced he'd be willing to go to Copanhagen to fight.

So Calzaghe could lose a fight with Jones and Kessler at the same time Calzaghe has to hurry and make a good fight or Kessler will pass him to the top without even fighting him Kessler is fighting bigger fights against tougher men while Calzaghe just seems to be messing about but if we think about it Calzaghe has always done this fought lower grade of opponent just Kessler is making it more obvious to us by him fighting good fighters

Well RJJ is way past prime, I dont think Kessler should fight him, unless we see a 100% fit RJJ but I think that will be even harder at 168. If they were to fight is should be at lightheavy weight.

Apart from that, who if Calzaghe going to fight now ? Are there any at 168 ? Mundine maybe ??
