Default ~Amin Asikainen vs. Sebastian Sylvester II on 6/23/07~

Anyone else excited about this rematch between Amin & Sebastian?
I read that their 1st fight was good. Though I've never seen the fight in it's entirety I've read 2 reports on the fight and 1 round by round.....

Coming into the fight Sebastian was the beting fav. and many people including myself thought he'd beat Amin. Sebastian was more schooled had fought better opposition and had the EBU title to back it.
I liked Amin but hadn't seen much of him so I favored Sebastian....
Well what a fight it turned out to be Amin never backed down, he was however being out pointed by the more slick and schooled Sebastian who was wining the fight 1 rd. at a time racking up points. In the 8th round Amin started to let his hands go and came out like it was the last round he was ever gonna fight, he catches Sebastian with some really good shots I mean hooks, straight rights, uppercuts you name it he was landing Sebastian for some reason stood there in front of Amin instead of taking a step back and starting over. Amin the catches Sebastian with a long hook and hurts Sebastian. Sebastian then catches Amin with a straight right that snaps Amins head to the side and his mouth piece flys out. Towards the middle of the round it appears as Sebastian has weathered the storm and begins to land his shots on Amin, by this time Amin is starting to go backwards and now Sebastian is the agressor and then out of no where BAM! Amin doubles up on that left hook. Down stairs, up stairs that catches Sebastian righ on the chin and drops him for an 8 count however the ref. feels Sebastian con no longer continue and waives off the fight....

Heres a clip of that last round.

So who do you guys think will take the rematch here?
Can Sebastian get back on track and get his title back and regain his momentum as one of the top Middles?
Anyone here see the whole fight?

I thought that the first fight was very entertaining, I would love to see a rematch.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I'm a bit surprised that you guys have seen the fight...I thought this fight was only noted
in Germany...I've seen it,but can't remember that much, besides the KO by Amin and the fact
that Sylvester was winning...Sylvester wasn't good conditioned that night...
Can't say much about Asikainen, besides that he has heart and a big punch...Sylvester lacks
    the last one...

I think Sylvester will win the rematch by decision, even though I think he is overrated...

I like Amin Asikainen, and I reckon that he will once again defeat Sylvester, because he is still fit, hard-hitting, and with a good engine. Asikainen by a mid to late KO this time I reckon, and I hope it is on TV.

Well like I said I've only seen a few highlight videos and read a rd. by rd.
Not the same as watching the actual fight.
    Anyway!!
I think Amins taking this one again, you know sometimes someone just has your number and I think Amins got Sebastians number here.

    CC right back at you...
Sylvester is very confident about this fight...I think he is the better boxer, but on the other hand
Asikainen did beat Alexander Sipos by decision and Sipos ain't bad...
Still Sylvester wins this one, unless he gets knocked out again...

I know most people are talking about Hatton-JLC.
Don't get me wrong I'm interested in the fight but I just don't think it's as big of a fight as it's made out to be.
Both guys struggle with weight, both guys have looked like sh*t in their last outings.

Anyway!! if ANYONE can do a rd. by rd. on Sat. for this fight I would REALLY appreciate it.

Anyone else looking forward to this match?

Unfortunately, it's not covered live on any channel that I can find, otherwise I would happily do it. I'll check the Boxing News TV schedule tomorrow and if there is coverage I'll give you what you want Mick. . There's a few weeks until the next live UK boxing is on TV, so if it's on I'll use it as a "stay busy" RBR.

    Asikainen, Sylvester workout!
    By Frank Bleydorn
In the run-up to the European middleweight championship between Amin Asikainen (21-0, 15 KOs) and challenger Sebastian Sylvester (25-2, 12 KOs) on Saturday, June 23, in Zwickau, both rivals presented themselves on Tuesday in an open media workout.

Hey CutMe you are really looking forward to this fight, don't you...?!?
If I don't go out on saturday(and it seems like I don't) I'll do a rnd by rnd even though it
won't be as detailed as wackos...

BTW I just read at boxrec that Sylvester, in his second fight after the loss against Asikainen
was down in the six rnd against Franck Mezaache, who has a weak punch...
So I now do question Sylvesters chin...

You bet your monkey ass I am....
Eventhough I haven't fully seen their 1st meeting I can't wait for this one.
Sebastian was highly regarded so this is like when Bojado lost and then got the rematch with Rubio. (not comparing the fighters just the meaning of the fight)

    Yeah! I read that.
I've also noticed and read that hes struggling with those last opponents hes faced. Hes stopped them but for the quality that they've been he should have blasted them out.

    CC #1625 back to ya...

Like I said I'll try my best...

And Sylvesters last two fights I've seen and he didn't struggle...he was pretty dominant, even
though he got caught here and there,he better makes sure this won't happen against Asikainen...
He is just a weak puncher, who might also have a weak chin, but don't get me wrong on the
other hand he is skilled, fast and good conditioned...
    Well...now I'm excited,too...
