When the big networks like HBO and Showtime pass on a fight, the promoters don't have much of a choice except to put it on PPV.
or ESPN 8, "the OCHO"
It will be more entertaining than the De La Hoya-Mayweather fight.
LOL how much would you pay to see Evander Holyfield fight Lou Savarese on 2007-06-30 it will be on ppv.Originally Posted by the phenom

Pea's right. For the money, it's either PPV with an awful commentary team or off tv.Originally Posted by SweetPea

The fight was offered to HBO for Free.
Briggs Vs. Mercer was PPV. I paid to watch it too...Originally Posted by yoitsdan

Its not asking too much that it be PPV, it is for a world heavyweight belt. Think yourselves lucky you even have the option, here in the UK we dont even have that. Id happily pay for it but its not being aired at all. And they wonder why no ones interested in the big guys anymore.....
lol But on a serious note, it's hard to get boxing on even a mainstream pay channel because inorder for it to be free you gotta have sponsors that want a peice of it and without sponors splitting the cost, the money's gotta come outta your wallet. You'll notice football games and other sports constantly flash up their sponsors thruout the games. This is the only reason boxing can't come to regular cable for these title fights, lack of sponsors.Originally Posted by TheBESTP4P
ESPN baby!!!! here they had an opportunity to bring Boxing to the general public, again and they blow the opportunity.....it's sh*t like this that keeps boxing down.....I wouldn't pay 5 bucks for this on.....Originally Posted by SweetPea
It feels good to be back home.
I just tried to order (against a good man's advice) the Briggs Vs. Ibragimov fight online @ Directv.com and there is no ORDER NOW button for this fight. Oh, it's listed among the events but where the ORDER NOW button should be it just says... "coming soon."
Good one, Directv! It only starts in 10.5 hours. My bad.
How is the production and annouce team for their pay per views?Originally Posted by BoxingGorilla
